ROUND 2: Another Blizzard!  We are getting 30+ centimeters of snow again today through tomorrow!  Wow!  If I don't post it's cause I'm buried! LOL My goodness!

Welcome jennyjo-I'm sure you'll find CC and our group quite helpful to you and the goals you have set.  If you have questions or concerns normally you can find someone within the CC community who has or is facing something quite similiar.  We find we're not alone in this big ole world.

Cheryl: I sure understand the busy schedules.  Life seems to be speeding up. . more and more every day. . .  "momma said there'd be days like these"!

Have a good day everyone!  Be good to yourself! Your special!!!

Good Morning Everyone,

Welcome JennyJo you will like it here, it is a great support system and you will make good friends too.  Good Luck Della with the snow, us we are having rain AGAIN today, I feel like I should be living in Seattle, Washington State, Oregon or somewhere where it rains alot but not Connecticut with all this rain, LOL.  Della how is the mindful thinking going?

After not having my period for 6 months I am in my second week of a full blown heavy one 12 days and counting.  I am so tired and unmotivated.  Hopefully it will be gone soon so I can get my energy back.  I have been good about what I am eating for the most part. I have been really good with my water intake.  Having coffee in the afternoon most days though but I think because I am so tired and because it has been very dreary here lately.

I didn't do good last week with exercise, but I did good over the weekend.  Back to not being motivated to exercise the last couple days, and I am sure today will not be much better I didn't sleep good last night so I am real tired but I am going to try I will at least do a short workout.  I weighted myself today and surprisingly I haven't gained any! I thought with my period (esp. for so long) I would definitely have a couple extra pounds on me I feel very bloated but was happily surprised when I didn't.  Of course I still weigh the same as I have for the last three months or so but not more so I am happy.  It is a journey that is for sure.

I have been logging food again although I changed how I log.  Like for a lunch or dinner, when I know what it all is I will put it in as one instead of 3 or 4 things, like pork chops, broccoli and rice and then the total calories.  I figure that will help me with the counting it up in my head but I still need to log things it makes a difference and I think it makes me accountable.

Well have a wonderful day everyone.  Betty

Hi Everyone.  Good Day to all!!!

Betty: I am practising "mindful thinking" everytimt I get a depressing thought or start to feel sorry for myself.  I stop and look at all the positives and Live only in the moment.  It has helped me ALOT!  My mind has always been 3 steps ahead of my body.  If I'm cooking supper I'm thinking about the dishes to wash, floor to sweep and laundry waiting to go into the either the washer or dryer.  I was always stressed and felt so over whelmed with life.  I don't do that now.  If I'm cooking supper-I'm COOKING supper.  I no longer allow myself to stress over the "undone" things in my life.  I'll get to them. . sooner or later. .

I also must admit to a change in my way of thinking and looking at my weight. As long as I'm working out and eating healthier I will not get upset if I only lose a couple ounces a week.  My body feels better than I have in a VERY long time.  I enjoy my exercise routines and I enjoy feeling stronger. .

Okay, nuff of that.  Have a great day everyone. Make it count. And remember YOUR WORTH IT!!

Della, good for you.  It makes a big difference when you put things in perspective doesn't it.  Something very hard to do but the mindful thinking is wonderful and has also helped me.  I would do exactly what you did...doing one thing and thinking of the four other things I needed to do, I don't do that anymore either and it has helped me tremendously with lowering my stress and just being happy in the moment.  It will get done later and hey if it doesn't get done it isn't the end of the world.

I did a great workout on the bowflex this morning and my 100 situps feel so much better still tired but thats okay.  Maybe I will attempt the treadmill or even a DVD later on.

have a great day everyone, Betty

Hello everyone!

It's a beautiful sunny day here today.  All the snow we got on Monday is almost gone.  Of course we still have the ugly snow that was under the new snow left, but today a lot will melt.  Spring is on the way here in MN!

I went out at break for a walk this morning and I'll go again this afternoon as well again this evening with my Husband and the dogs.  I also have my Yoga this afternoon.  My 2nd session, it's very relaxing.

I'm haven't gotten on the scale since last Thursday when it went up a pound.  I decided it was making me too crazy so I'm staying away for a while.  I do think something is changing because I was able to put on a pair of pants this morning and they don't seem as tight as they were the last time I wore them.  I've been very good about logging everything I eat and staying within my calories.  I've even been sticking to my workout routine so you'd figure something's gotta give!

Della, I like your thinking.  It really does make a difference when we just enjoy the moment we're in.

That's a bummer Betty with your period.  It makes me a bit nervous.  I haven't had mine in almost 4 months now, I'm afraid of what's to come when it does come.  Something to look forward to.

Everyone have a fabulous day.    Becky

Morning All,

It is a very rainy, dreary day here.  I would love to be curled up on the couch with my dogs and a good mystery with the coffee pot in full swing.  But that wouldn't pay the bills, would it.  Still, I'm thankful to have a job that I enjoy that does pay the bills.

Betty, I hear you about the lack of motivation.  I don't know what has happened to me the last 2 weeks.  I was doing great and all at once I feel like I'm back to square one regarding exercise.  I am struggling here.  Also, my cousin has one of those never-ending periods and became anemic, so please be careful.  That might explain some of your tiredness.

I need to work on the mindful thinking too.  My mind goes in a dozen directions all the time.  Sometimes I can't even get it to slow down and let me sleep.

Have a great day everyone.    Cheryl

Hi everyone!

It has been a gray misty rainy day here in Georgia.  Had a long talk with the physical therapist today about using the balance ball. (That will take some practice before I'm good)  She is so encouraging.  Not doctor ordered or insurance paid; just someone whom is passionate about her job and willing to give advice.  She almost makes me feel guilty if I don't workout.

About this time last year I was so anemic they had threatened blood transfusion.  Had a hysterectomy.  Recent labs were "Great".  Now I feel like tackling the weight and doing the exercise.  When I was anemic, it took every thing to get through the day.

Good Morning Betty, Cheryl, Becky and Jennyjo102,

Today is the first day of Spring!  Just think about it ladies.  Soon the flowers will be in full bloom filling the air with the wonderful scents that will draw the bumble bees, butterflies and humming birds.   The air will be soft and gentle on your cheek.  The ground will warm and grass will adorn the hills once again.  Ahh spring-life begins again  (course for here spring wont arrive until June but still).

Today is the first day to begin our new lives.  I want to challenge everyone to take 5 minutes today and do NOTHING.  Just sit back clear your minds of all the clutter we always have running around.  Breath deeply and allow your minds, and bodies to relax.  5 Minutes Ladies-it aint much but it works miracles.

I didn't get to work out last night-just too much on the agenda.  The In Law's are talking about moving out April 5th.  They will go into Corner Brook and stay with one of their children there.  I'm going to miss them. .

Have a great day everyone!!!

Good Morning All,

Della, your challenge to take 5 minutes and do nothing may be the hardest thing that any of us has ever done.  That is really going to take some work!  But, I will try it.  Sounds like a wonderful way to recharge our batteries.

Jennyjo, you are going to love the balance ball.  I have one and three different balance ball dvds (because I need an instructor to follow.  Don't do so well on my own).  It is an awesome workout.  It's so easy and gentle, but when you are done, you can really feel it.  The first one I got was specifically for a beginner and it was a great place to start.

Becky, isn't it wonderful when you can fit into something that you had outgrown.  That is the true test.  Like I've said before, the scales are fickle but blue jeans don't lie.

Betty, I'm older than any of you girls and I'm still having my period regular as clockwork.  Well, semi regular, never more than a week late.  Aren't our bodies funny.  I'm beginning to think that I'll be 80 years old and toddering into Wal Mart on my cane to by tampons.

Have a great day everyone.   Cheryl

Cheryl: Can you share the name of the beginner DVD?  I've been looking at balance balls and programs at amazon.com and sears.ca, google, and collagevideo.com.  There are several to choose from so I'm a little confused as to where to start. ~ Thanks

Della

Afternoon Ladies,

I'm doing the "Happy Dance"  I got on the scale and I'm down 2 lbs after the 1 lb weight gain last week.  Only 5.2 more and I'll reach my first goal of getting under 200!!!!  I'm shooting for the end of April.

It's another sunny day here.  We do have snow in the forecast for tomorrow so I'll enjoy today.  I'll take on your challenge of taking 5 minutes for ourselves, Della.   I'm going tonight to get my hair done.  I love the Gal who does my hair, she always gives me a scalp message so I'll be able to zone out for a couple of minutes.

Have a great day!   Becky

Good afternoon everyone,  had a trade conference today and ughhhhhh I am so tired.  Happy Spring, it was gray and misty most of the day but the sun is shining now.

Yes Cheryl I will be careful and I too am sure that is why I am tired.  Last year my period would come for two weeks then go away for two months so I am a bit used to it.  I like the not here for 6 months better.  I know we go through spells of not wanting to work out, however, I think you work out more than all of us from what you write WELL more than ME I know, sometimes I think we just need a break or a change.

Della I do love your idea, It is a GREAT suggestion. I will say that at around 5pm (right about now) I always try to take a break and sit in my living room the sun just pours in and it is so peaceful, sometimes I will read or just have tea or even watch tv but relax and not think of work or anything.  I would love to be able to meditate but have tried and just can't do it I like your idea better kinda like meditation but easier I think.

Congratulations on your weight loss Becky, keep up the good work, I agree with Cheryl JEANS do not lie...

Jenny, let me know how the PT does with you sounds interesting did you know their nick name is physical therorist...  they are usually tough.  Have a great night everyone.  Betty

Good Morning Everyone.

Della, the name of the dvd I mentioned earlier is "Balance Ball Beginners Workout" by Gaiam.  I got my copy on half.com.  I checked and they still have them.  Actually, that is where I get nearly all of my dvds.  Another good one is "10 Minute Solution Fitness Ball Workout".  It contains five 10 minute mini workouts.  Each workout focuses on a different part of your body and, since they are only 10 minutes long, they are easy to fit into a busy schedule.

Becky, congratulation on the lost 2 lbs.  Isn't it a wonderful feeling!

It is almost time for me to leave for work and I wanted to take a few minutes to check in.  My daughter called last night.  She is 6 months pregnant and was leaving the doctor's office. Diagnosed with the flu.  Her husband is supposed to leave for a fishing tournament and if he does, I may be going to stay with her this weekend.  If I do, I probably won't be checking in again until Sunday or Monday.  So, if I don't talk to you sooner, everyone have a great weekend.

Cheryl

Hi fellow Caloriecount gals (and guys!) LOL!!  I keep my stuff on my MicroSoft Word document and then just copy and past it to here and 2 other places I'm on, it makes it a lot easier than trying to type it all over again.  I'm so excited that my plateau finally broke!

This past week was a booger-bear because I had a horrible migraine for most of the week.  Major fronts went through here which wreaked havoc on the sinuses and the Thyroid didn't like it at all, either.  Honestly, though, I'm doing a whole lot better with it all.  Normally I'd stay in bed all those days and not be able to move, much less do any housework... so my docs and I are pretty pleased with all I'm doing now.  So just thought I'd let you know that...

My Scale Moved!!!
PREVIOUS WEIGHT LAST WEEK: 161.4
THIS WEEK'S WEIGHT: 160.00
THIS WEEK'S WEIGHT LOSS: -1.64 pounds
TOTAL LOSS SO FAR:  29 POUNDS!!!

Finally!!!

I hit a plateau two weeks ago and so that stressed me out. Then dealing with the migraines for about a week stressed me out even more. Hmmm... maybe the migraines were from the stress??? LOL!!

Anyway, stepped on the scale today and it MOVED!! So that means my Diet Tracking Ticker MOVED!! I'm down 1.4 pounds this week which is nice. Yesterday I woke up feeling better than I have all week, so maybe the Thyroid is done acting up for a while. When it gets crazy like that there's no stopping it, it seems like... just have to ride out the storm. Crazy thing is that MOVING and DRINKING WATER helps tremendously, but when a migraine is involved in it all moving and drinking anything kinda doesn't happen LOL!

So here's my stats for the week (water's bad, I know)

Cheryl... will be praying that your daughter does well! Stay safe on your trip to see her!

Becky... Congrats on your weightloss!! I tried on a pair of my hubby's jeans yesterday, and they fit! I was like WOW!! He's always been a no-bum skinny boy, but now he's a no-bum skinny boy with an ice cream belly because he quit smoking a few years ago and eats ice cream all the time LOL! Oh well... new jeans for MaMa until PaPa can fit back into them! They are 33 waists! I used to be in a 38 waist (snug, snug, snug and had to lay down to zip them up!).

Everyone... I have been doing the Leslie Sansone DVD of "Walking Away The Pounds" and LOVE it!! I started with the 1 mile, then moved to the 2 mile. She is such an awesome person to watch and get inspired by... she reminds me of my on Italian aunt (well, all my aunts are Italian or Yugoslavian/Italian LOL). She's great. I'm going to try and figure out my profile on here so I can put my workout program in writing... I'm still trying to figure out this website LOL!!

Hugs & Blessings this Easter Season!

~Ro~

Hello ladies~ we went for a ski doo ride today and then ice fishing.  The trail was rough!  I felt like I'd been working out for 8 hours straight after the ride on the "groomed" trail.  Hills, bumps and valleys-I was (passenger) hanging on for dear life.  My arms, legs and hands are so sore from griping the ski doo handles and seat so hard.  Now how do you figure that one into the calories burned??? LOL.
Caught 7 nice rainbow trout and had them for supper.  So nice healthy meal for us tonight.

Becky: congragulations on the weight loss.  It always feels so good to see the scale go down-and the pants loose around the hips and waist.

Cheryl: Thanks for the name-and website, I'll check them both out.  Please let us know how your daughter and you are doing when you can.

Ro: good to hear from you.  I was wondering how your doing.  I love the WATP dvd workouts too.  I am on the 3 mile but looking to purchase her 4 and 5 mile soon.  I also did the slim in 6 Start It Up DVD again this week but still find it way to hard on my knees.  Will try it again another time.

Will check in with everyone later.

Della

Della...  Yeah.. been a bit under the weather these past 2 weeks, but it's getting better!!  I haven't made it past the 2 Mile video yet, but plan to!  And I'm still going to run on the treadmill at least once a week and then walk briskly the other 2 days.

Fixin' to get cold here tonight with a possibility of SNOW!!  Oy!!  I really, really don't like cold weather... and neither do my bones LOL!!

~Ro~

Happy Easter Morning Ladies

Well I guess I'm officially in a plateau.  My weight has not budged for 3 weeks now.  I've never experienced this before.  I'm going to follow the advice of my dietatcian and give it another two weeks.  If it hasn't moved (my weight) I'll be changing things up again.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Della

Blessed Easter Everyone!  Thank you for all your encouragement.

My table is set and the dinner is all in the oven.  Just waiting for my guests to arrive.  My Son, Daughter and Granddaughter are here.  I've got my Mother, Sister and her Son and my Brother and his Wife, possibly their two Sons coming for dinner.  It'll be a nice afternoon.   I've got a bit of a break so I thought I'd check in and wish everyone well.  It doesn't feel too much like spring let alone Easter around here.  It's been lightly snowing since Thursday evening.  All the snow that melted last week has been replaced.  Granted, it's pretty but myself and most everyone else are really getting sick of it.  It does sound like the suns coming back tomorrow and it's going to warm up this week so the snow won't last long.

I haven't been very good about watching what I've eaten the last couple of days.  My Husband and I went out to a concert on Friday and then out with some friends last night.  It was very enjoyable but.......  I didn't go totally crazy but I didn't totally watch what I was eating and drinking.  I'll enjoy my dinner today and then get back at it tomorrow.

Cheryl, I hope all is well with your Daughter.  Keep us posted.  Thanks for the info on the balance ball, I think I'm going to give that a try.

Ro, I hope your migraines get better, that's gotta be miserable.  Glad to hear about your weight loss.  That is exciting.

Della, hang in there as long as you're eating right and getting your exercise things are changing even when we don't see the number on the scale go down.

Well I hope you all have a wonderful Easter Sunday, talk to you soon.

Well, this was a very quiet Easter around here.  Normally, we do a big meal and play card games and stuff... but hubby had to sleep all day in order to work tonight.  It was bitterly cold this morning, so we were wrapped up in blankets most of the day.  It was a different Easter morning than we're used to having.

So I decided to start off this week right by getting in all that I'm supposed to nutrition and exercise-wise today!
I thought that today would be the day to give my best, since He gave His best for me!

Calorie Goal 1200-1450:
Today's Intake 1240

Water Goal 64oz:
Today 64oz

Exercise Goal 30 minutes daily:
Today 30 min (2 Mile WATP Video)
