Hey Cheryl and Betty:
Hope your weekend was good. I spent most of mine outside. Cleaning the car, raking lawn, putting out lights, just general spring maintance.
Didn't lose an ounce this week. . oh well. . always next week.
I posted 2 pictures in my gallery-both were taken after my mom passed away in 2007. One is with my oldest daughter and myself and the other is just a close up of me.
Take care-goodnight.
Della
Good Morning,
Della, I love the photos, your daughter is beautiful looks a lot like you. I love the giraffes you are standing by.
Weekend has been good so far, worked outside yesterday all day in the gardens and on our water feature, finally got the waterfall right it lost water last year had to keep filling the ponds think we got it right. It is wonderful that my husband loves to do this also so we work outside together. We also placed 10 trees where we think we want them not planted yet. I am going to take some photo's of the gardens they are my pride and joy well second to my kids.
Having Mom and the kids over later today for a cookout looks like a beautiful day. Hope you all are enjoying your long weekend.
Betty
Hi Ladies,
Della, I too loved your photos. Is the daughter in the photo the mother of your grandson? When I saw your photos, I decided to try to add some to my gallery. I think I figured it out. The only pictures I have of me are at my oldest son's wedding last June. I put pictures in of the whole family. I was about 15 lbs heavier than I am now and nothing but flab because I hadn't worked out in years. Thanks for the inspiration.
Betty, I bet your garden is beautiful. The waterfall sounds heavenly. You and Della have been talking so much about your gardens and flowers. I have no talent in that area at all, but lots of respect for the people who do.
I am on my way to the cemetery where my mom's parents and grandparents are buried. Every Memorial Day, Mom and I spend the afternoon there collecting donations for the cemetery upkeep. We have done this together for years. She gets to see allot of people she never sees otherwise. I just tag along to have the time with her.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day. Cheryl
HI my name is ruth iam 47. I want to lose 50 pounds. Lost about 9 so far. thank goodness it gets easier to deal with the changes in eating habits. Im using low calorie foods lots of veggies ie;tomatoes, onions, jalapenos.lettucce. You can buy almost anything fat free now days. Most things dont taste as bad as i thought.
I find meat is the hardest because even chicken has a lot of calories. I dont get as much exercise as i like. I live in Texas and its getting hot. I love to walk but hard to stand the heat. Im on 1200 calories a day. I spread it out over 5 to six times a day. Helps me not feel so hungrey and i read that it helps your metabolism too. Its been about three weeks since i started so i guess thats pretty good actually. Well ya'll have a great day.

Hi and welcome Ruth-Looking forward to getting to know you! I am 46 will be 47 in August and have 30 pounds to lose (for a start) if I can EVER get out of this plateau I'm in. I have three kids (four with the son in law) and, one grandson. The oldest girl her husband and baby all live in Oklahoma (where I'm from originally).
Cheryl: yes, that is my oldest girl. She has been married a little over a year now and the baby is 5 months. My other two are 16 and 14 (boy 16 girl 14). I think it's great your spending this time with your mother. (I'm going to look at your pictures right now!)
Betty: I want a water garden so bad! But with our cold winters it would be more work than I could handle. So I'm just going to content myself with flower beds. Maybe one day though!
Della
Hi all and welcome Ruth,
Della, you could have one of those "one" pond features with the fountain in it. They are real nice and not a lot of work. I will take some photos and post them
Hope all of you are having a great day.
Betty
Good Morning,
Ruth, welcome. I agree that the beginning is very hard. The changes we have to make to our diet are a shock to the system. Exercise was my biggest challenge.
Della, I can't imagine living so far away from my daughter. I know that is hard for you. Glad your are going to get to spend three weeks with her and your new grandson this August. My daughter is two hours away from me and I thought that was bad until my son-in-law almost accepted a job that would have put them 4 1/2 hours away. Now two hours sounds pretty good.
Betty, looking forward to seeing the photos of your water garden. It sounds so serene and beautiful.
Have a good day everyone. Cheryl
Good Morning everyone,
Cheryl, I finally got a chance to look at your photos they are great. What wonderful pictures, makes me excited for my daughters wedding next year. 15lbs lighter you must turn heads.
My daughter is now looking for a new house, her soon to be husband works in the next state, she is 30 minutes away now and will be around 60. After hearing you guys I guess I should not complain. I would love for her to live across the street. My son live 1 mile away it is nice because he stops in often. I guess life changes.
I am doing okay, not exercising as much as I should but working in the garden 3/4 hours a day so that is good, almost done planting the trees, I think I have 5 to go. I haven't been good with my water intake this week for some reason, I can tell because my hair gets dry. So my goal is to drink LOTS of water and try to do at least one "planned" exercise each day. I have to get back to where I was working out 6 days a week, I feel the difference.
Well off to work have a busy day today, have a wonderful day everyone.
Betty
Good morning all,
I'm back from our long weekend in Chicago and a husband who's feeling much better. We both needed the time away.
I haven't been good at all about documenting my food intake and writing here so my new goal is to start fresh and track everything again and check in more frequently.
Today was my weigh in and I haven't lost anything for a couple of weeks. I'm hanging at 196. At least I didn't gain, for that I'm so I'm grateful. The further away from 200 the better.
Betty and Della your gardens sound wonderful. What a great thing to be around. If the weather cooperates this weekend my Husband and I will be outside doing yard work. We had a lot of our bushes not make it throught this past winter so we're needing to get them pulled out and other plants planted. I'm really feeling behind with my yard. We're digging out our front side walk and putting in a little patio out front so we'll have to move things around. I'm anxious to have it done and use it. Our summer is getting hectic, next weekend both my son and daughter graduate college. My daughter has a job and is looking for a place to live so she and my granddaughter will be moving out by the end of summer. Life will really change around my house then.
Cheryl thanks for sharing your pictures. It's nice to put a face with the name.
I'll check back soon. Becky
Hi Cheryl, Betty and Becky,
Haven't had much chance to post and I aplogize for that. Our office has hit an incredible pick up of clients the past few days and I've been busier than I don't know what! And of course life at home (with two teenagers) is always busy.
I have upped my workout with Leslie. While she walks I now jog the entire workout and use my weights during the workout. I am so sick of being at this plateau and thought I'd try ramping things up a bit and see if it'll get things moving again.
Spoke with my dietician and she is as stumped as I am as to my weight refusing to budge. Personally I think it's been around so long it refuses to be evicted. . LOL
Go take a look at my grandson! Picture in my gallery. He is so darn cute!
I'll try and check in tomorrow morning before the office gets to busy.
Della
Good Morning Ladies,
Della your grandson is such a cutie. Thank you for the comment in my journal you inspire me also Della.
I have new goals to do more in the morning. I have gotten kinda lazy with the exercise now that it is nice out and I just either work, or go outside and garden. I did good yesterday...I did more before 9am than most people do all day LOL... I really did good I even cleaned (that always goes on the back burner in the nice gardening weather). I am only allowing myself one hour on the computer before I need to go and exercise, eat etc. We will see if I can follow it.
Today I have a 9:00 appointment so I will see how I do, got up at 5:30 so I should have plenty of time to be productive on more than just the computer. I ordered a new DVD "Leslie's walk away the pounds walk and kick" and look forward to trying it out when it comes.
This Sunday we are picking up two kittens. We have one calico long haired cat, we had another short haired one as well but she got sick in March and we had to put her to sleep. So we have been searching for a companion for our Suzy well my husband would have a bunch if I let him and I only wanted to get one "older" cat, but fell in love with a photo of this little calico kitten. We found out the shelter has her sister who is a torte and my husband talked me into her as well. It will be like having kids around again hahaha. I am excited though they are just so cute, I wonder what Suzy will think!
Well off to do some work and then a workout. Have a great day everyone. Betty
Happy Saturday everyone,
Della, your grandson is adorable beyond words! Makes me all the more anxious for my own grandson's arrival. I also enjoyed looking at the pictures of your two younger children. You have a lovely family. It never occurred to me to jog during the WATP workout, except when Leslie says to jog. That is a great idea. Now I know what to do with her earlier dvds that aren't so challenging anymore. thanks.
Becky, glad to hear that your husband is feeling better and that you two had the opportunity to enjoy a long weekend together.
Betty, I will be anxious to hear more about the two new additions to your family. I love pets. We have two pugs in the house and three cats outside. We lost our most affectionate cat this week. He was only a year old and just disappeared.
We found out this week that my daughter's high risk OB has scheduled next Sunday, June 8th, as the day to induce labor. She is on call that weekend, so that is why Sunday. We are all so excited, we can't stand ourselves! Nervous too, but trusting in God to bring us through again. My husband and I and my son-in-law's parents are going to their home on Saturday night because things may start happening as early as 5am Sunday morning and we live 2 hour and 2 1/2 hour away respectively. All of this is provided my grandson doesn't decide to make his arrival sooner. In which case, all I can say is "Gang Way". If I disappear for a little while, you all will know what is going on.
On a happy, all be it less important note, I am down 3 1/2 pounds from last week. I hope this means I have broken through the plateau and not just teeter-toddering as I have done in the past. I have been "bustin my hump" with Leslie.
Have a wonderful weekend, all. Cheryl
Hello everyone!!!
Cheryl: 3.5 pounds!Awesome. Sounds like you've busted that plateau out of the water! Wow! I'm so excited for you. 3.5 pounds lost, new grandson: arrival any time now. You must be walking on pins and needles. LOL I know I was waiting for mine to enter the world.
Betty: Ahh I love kittens as well. We have a small toy poodle-black with some white markings. He's more than just a pet, he's part of our family. We'd be lost without him.
Becky: Glad your back and that your husband is doing better. Hope your week goes well.
Well ladies I am down this week as well. I've hit 198=again-not sure if it'll last. But I'll revel in it while I can.
Next week I'll be out of pocket. Must travel out of town for business meetings. But will check in as soon as I get home again.
Take care!
Della
Hi Everyone,
Wow Cheryl and Della congrats on your loss. Becky very happy to hear things are going well with your hubby.
off to plant some window boxes will be picking up the kittens around 3:00 very excited. Hubby and I took our weekly Sunday morning walk and then visited Mom on the way home, we went about a mile and a half this time. Not real far but walked a different way around the block, by my sons house through the retirement development (it is a newer development that is really nice $300 plus single unit condos) then down our road... nice walk.
Have a good week away Della, Have a good rest of the weekend everyone.
Betty
Hi Everyone!!!!
I didn't fall off the face of the earth ROFLOL!! I've just been struggling with this blasted medication and haven't had anything exciting to post since I'm having to fight to keep the weight off! It makes me so mad! I get it all off and then he gives me this Synthroid to "fix the problems I'm having" only it causes more problems. I wouldn't wish this on ANYONE... even my enemies LOL. He won't even LOOK at doing Armour Thyroid which is a natural alternative, so I may once again be looking for a new Endo doctor (oh joy).
Other than that... I turned 49 YEARS OLD on the 28th and survived!! Hubby told me that for my birthday... and this is his words.... "I'm letting you sleep with Kasey Kahne for your birthday". For those of you who don't know, Kasey is a cutie patootie NASCAR driver with the most gorgeous smile and blue eyes and... and... OH MY!!! Well... as it turns out hubby gave me Kasey Kahne #9 pajama bottoms to sleep in ROFLOL!! So I had to have a sleep apnea test on Friday night and the lady doing the test said she could see these #9's glowing in the dark and had to laugh. She said she could tell where I was on the bed every minute LOL.... had my built in night light LOL.
Have been a blowing and a going as far as working with my flowers. Our Anniversary (18 years) is tomorrow and at first hubby was going to put in a sprinkler system to help me out with everything... but instead he's springing for a.......... HOT TUB!!!!!! OK... I'm excited! Electricians are coming out tomorrow for some other electrical work, and then we'll have the guys deliver the Hot Tub on Wednesday. Toooo cool!!
Well, I'm still trying to do the WATP videos. My muscles are spasming a LOT (another wonderful side effect of that drug from Hell-O). Hopefully the Hot Tub will help my muscle issues. Well, that's all for now... will post again soon.
Hugs.............. Ro
Happy Monday Everyone!
This weekends weather was wonderful. I got so much done in the yard. I didn't get everything planted I was wanting, I'll try and finish up tonight.
Della your Grandson is adorable. What a smile. Grandchildren are a joy to have around.
Ro, good to hear from you. I hope your body adjusts to the new medication and the side effects subside. Happy belated birthday and Happy anniversary. I'd love to have a hot tub, especially after working in the yard. I'm jealous.
Weight loss and new pets, what more could anyone want!
Have a great week, I'll check in later. Becky
Good Morning Everyone,
Well our new kittens are hysterical they are sooooo cute and loving it is a joy, I forgot how much fun little kittens were, my cat is 10 years old.....
Ro, glad to hear from you, hope things get better soon. You will LOVE the hot tub, we got one last year and it is so wonderful especially after gardening helps the muscles so much. We go it in 4/6 times a week even this winter, coldest was 20 degrees nice while you are in but brrrrrrr when you get out. 49 huh..... I turn 49 in October. Happy Birthday, I like Jimmie Johnson myself.
I am so busy with work, no complaints here, just listed a new house so I am doing all the paperwork that comes with it flyers, MLS listins, photos etc.. and I have 4 more next week, WOW just have to sell them!
I am doing okay with exercise, trying to stick to my plan in the morning today I am behind due to the listing but it is raining out and I WILL exercise before I leave this morning, I am going to try the new Leslie DVD I got yesterday.
Have a wonderful day everyone.
Betty
Hello all,
Welcome Riley, That is wonderful that you got to see kittens being born I bet it was amazing. We are enjoying our kittens so much, our cat on the other hand she is not so sure but she will get used to them.
I tried my new Leslie "walk and kick" DVD, way cool, only got through half of it didn't have the time to do the whole thing and it is more intense. It is a good one to have for sure.
Hope you all have a good day. Betty
Well, Betty and Becky... you're right! I LOVE the hot tub LOL! It really helps relieve the tension. The kids were in it the other day while I mowed the lawn, then I rinsed off and got in. We turned it down so that it would be kinda cool for us. The wind has been horrible here! Luckily we have it in an enclosed gazebo (well, it's screened in... dust can still get in there), and I keep the cover on when we're not using it. I got several plants and put in there to "hot-house" it up LOL!
Been doing fairly well on my weight I guess. Got my shipment of the B6/B12/Lipo shots today so that I can start them up again so I can get over this hump that the Synthroid obviously has built up. I about tackled the FedEx guy when he came up the driveway LOL.
I also found a new bar to add to my daily routine. I usually eat the MyDietSolutions ones in the morning since they have around 15 or so grams of protein... but I also NEED FIBER badly, so I came across some that a friend recommended to me. They're by GNU Foods and they're called Flavor & Fiber Bars. They're really yummy! I was surprised! I like the Banana Nut ones and the Orange Cranberry (I think that's the name) the best. Never knew fiber could taste good!
Been working some in the yard. Most of my plants are perrenials so they have come back. It's just a matter of keeping the blasted weeds and grass out of the beds. I saw that Betty's doing a new DVD by Leslie... will have to check it out! I've slowed down some because my muscles get terribly tired when I exercise (side effect of the Synthroid). I'm hoping that the shots will kick things back into sync again... they sure helped before.
Hugs to all!! Ro
