I did it! New milestone on journey to healthy life

OK, some might poo-poo this, but I know there are some of you out there who will understand what I'm happy about.

I made homemade chocolate chip cookies last night on my kids request (hasn't been much in that area around the house for a while). I did not "sample" any dough during preparation, and get this:

(***fanfare here***)

I ate exactly ONE warm cookie with my boys and then I STOPPED!!!

YEEEHAAWW!!!!

We can all REALLY do this, people!! Real life includes chocolate chip cookies in moderation.

I think think that is a great accomplishment!! I am still at the...DO NOT MAKE...part or I will eat until I drop :) Congratulations!! We all can do it, just all have a harder time than others!!

Keep up the good work!!

Wow, that is REALLy impressive! I wouldn't even try it! Good for you.

I bet skinny folks would never understand this one!!

This is nothing to poo-poo: you're awesome! I'm with kristicarroll on this one... still "all or nothing" with the warm baked goods.

that is an amazing feat. their are few things as yummy as cookie dough. good for you!

Congrats!!

I personally would end up eating the entire dozen if I didn't have to share, so I just try not to make them at all.

Awesome job though! If you can manage that, you will continue to to great!

That is a great accomplishment!!  I love chocolate chip cookies...big downfall for me. I try not to make them because I would probably eat 6 or 7.  I have started making them with splenda instead of real sugar and that seems to make me feel a little better when I have one or two.

Congrats!!! Great Job.

That is amazing, you are a rock! My daughter asked me to make cookies last week and after a few moments consideration I had to tell her no. There's no WAY I could not eat the dough and pig out on the warm ones. I may have an iron will under normal situations but that is asking me to be superhuman.

I completely understand! And applaud you for stopping at one! (I might not have been able to do that yet.) But I'll get there! I know I will...

Okay, I totally understand the "no baking" rule, but when you have kids it's hard to banish everything forever. But kids shouldn't over do it with the cookies either. I figured out that I could be happy with two cookies when they were fresh and not be tempted the next day with the leftovers so my solution is this: I make the full amount of dough and bake about 10 regular size cookies. That's 2 for me and a few for my husband and son. Then I make the rest of the dough into balls that are ready to bake and put them in the freezer. When my son gets the urge for cookies, he can bake 4 or 5 at a time and enjoy them without a huge amount of leftovers to tempt anyone. Win - win. Life without chocolate chip cookies is sad.

Good for you!

I can't bake, otherwise I'll eat everything just to get it out of the house. My room mates and boyfriend are barely any help in the eating department.

Sometimes I wish I had kids, just so that I know I could have JUST one, and then they'd all just disappear...haha.

 Agreed, whole heartedly.

Great Job I think that shows how committed you are to your goal.

I like chocolate chips but DH hates them so thankfully I dont make them because i dont want them around and he dont want them so it makes it very easy on me.

GOOD JOB Smile

You are impressive!  That's awesome to hear!!

This is very motivating to hear- good work!  It makes me want to be good too, so thank you :)

Thanks everyone!! It feels great to be on the right track. Now if only that evil scale would show me some love...LOL!!

 Ditto!

And definitely congrats on the self-control (or willpower or whatever name for it is "in vogue" right now). You're a weight-loss samurai AND your kids think you rock! ;)
