New and in need of support
Hey everyone,
I'm a 24 year old law student who has seen her tummy get bigger with each passing school year. I recently saw pictures and realized I don't even look like myself anymore. I want to have children and a successful career in the next few years and losing weight to be healthy and confident is a MUST.
The only way I have been able to lose weight in the past is through food logging and having to answer to someone (my college roommate was a personal trainer). I'm looking for some friends to do weigh ins, challenges, and just to chat about our experiences and problems.
My CW is 250 and GW is 160. Current goal is 230.
I'm going to start with a 1500 calorie a day limit and work out at least 4 times a week. My work out at the moment consists of:
-2mins walking 3 mins running on the treadmill for 30 mins
-30 mins on eliptical
-30 push ups
-different combinations of ab work
-various weight training, 2-3 different machines workind different areas each gym trip
any tips or recomendations are greatly appreciated!

Hi there. I'm new too, and also looking for friends and people to answer to! I'm 24, and trying to get from 160 to the 130ish area. I was in a MA program a year ago, and I know that grad school can be absolutely killer for trying to stay in shape. All you do is sit and work! I mean, I do that for my job now, but since I'm working at an office during the day and not working all night at home in sweats, I don't eat quite as much. But welcome and I'd love to be your buddy! We can figure this site out together!

I know how you feel. I have also watched myself change through the school years. My CW is about 270 and my ultimate GW is 150. I just want to be under the 200 mark for now. Sometimes I cant believe that I let myself get this big. But the pictures of my former body inspire me. I also want to have children in the next few years but I know getting pregnant at my current size is very risky.
Your work out plan seems like a good one. I might have to try it out

I'm new as well. I'm 25 and have been slightly overweight since i was 11. I didn't start gaining a lot of weight till I hit about 18 and was in college. I hit the 200 mark during my freshman year of college. My highest was 220 and manage to get down to 185, but I ballooned back up to 210. My goal weight is 150. I saw pictures of 2 Thanksgivings ago, and the one last year at my stepsister's wedding and I don't like what I see. I am the biggest one in my family. I need people to answer to. So lets do this!
I'm in! :) I just started using this website about a week and a half ago. I'm 25, 5'11", i started out at 255 and just after one week i'm down to 246. Can't wait till I weigh myself again next Monday. I'll have to re-post. It's crazy too because I eat all day long but count count count! I use my total gym 3x a week and go for walks the others. After losing so much the first week i'm totally hooked on this! I'd love to have some people in the same situation working at it and to have some people to talk to :) All my friends are skinny little twigs so they don't get it. I love this website because it gets you the chance to meet and talk with people in the same boat.

Hello there! I read your story and we are definitely on the same boat. I'm in school as well, I'm trying to get into the nursing field, also work full time. I work 6 days a week besides school. So, it's very overwhelming. I'm a short girl, 5'0 (really i'm 4'11"), and was up to 152 lbs. I decided to make a change at the beginning of the year because I wanted to look good before I get married and have kids. I hired a personal trainer, worked out for a little bit, but after a while. couldn't afford it no more. So, i find it very helpful that you post your work out regime. Anyway, I just decided to limit my calorie intake and lost 20 lbs.. I would like to lose more because i'm still slightly overweight, so if you don't mind, i would like to be your weight loss buddy.
