hi!!! my mane is flora> I'm 20 years old and currently at about 200 pounds. I like to use round numbers because we oscilate a lot...

I have made several valiant efforts to lose weight, my goal is 139 but realistically i would feel very healthy at 160.

I have a drop-dead gorgeous boyfriend that inexplicably loves me the way I am, and I think it's way past due that I give myself the respect of looking as good as he does. I hate the way my legs rub together. I hate the way my back looks in the mirror and the shape of my butt. I want to be energetic and bubbly, not fatigued ll the time.
Most of all, I want to be healthy.

I'm crash-dieted many times, tried to do the "healthy lifestyle" thing many tomes as well. The upside is that my body responds very well to any effort. The downside is I've never stuck to anything long enough.

But maybe support from people not not in my peer group is the key. we all have something in common here, and it's the desire, for whatever are reasons are, to lose this darned weight!!! I'll b logging in quite a bit, and also posting on my blog (http://mastercleanseforvicky.blogspot.com)

It's where I rant about the dieting stuff.
Anybody out there wanting to start a group? We'll do weigh-ins and swap teqniques, successes and failures. Let's link arms here and do this diet thing!!

Greetings from Cambodia,

I am in, i feel that i am in the same situation, my boyfriend nope sorry fiance, is tall and well built whereas im small and chubby. In school i used to do s much sports, couldnt go a day without doing a team activity, i was fit, after that i got operated from my knee ligaments, then it was university and gained 12 kg... after uni came to cambodia, i managed to loose 7 kg just by working... i chanegd job and lost again (didnt have time to eat which helped a lot) but once i made time i gained all of it back.. im now always in between 65kg and 67 kg and i hate it...

My happy goal would be 60kg, i work in hospitality i have to deal with the temptation of food all day long, its hard... i work from 7am to 10 or 11 pm... which does not leave me a lot of time to exercise.. at the moment im mostly doing desk job, so not moving much...

i hate my arms, my stomack, my legs and my butt,... my bf love the way i am... but i hate it...

this morning i read 66 kg on the scale... i hope it will go down..

i will get up now and go to the kitchen to get a plate of fruits... lets go fiber.

best of luck
Hi Flora, you sound like you have desire to follow through but do not do it for your boyfriend.  Do it for yourself.  Both of you will benefit through your newfound self esteem.  Ask questions, learn how to eat properly (without depriving yourself), and find some exercise you truly can enjoy.  You are young, you can reach your goal, have fun on your journey!!
Hi! I'm Lisa. I can relate. I've tried many diets, and when I stick to them, I've lost 20-30 lbs and felt great. But, I can never stick to them. Then having a baby 18 months ago didn't help. I was so nervous about being a mom, gaining weight, that I gained 70 lbs with the pregnancy. I've lost 30 lbs since her birth. But it's been a struggle, every step of the way. Ans I'm determined, not to give up this time. I did a difficult atkins diet in January, and lost about 10 lbs, but again, it's too hard to stick to. I don't know how to add friends or start a group, but if you know how, I would love for us to support each other. My husband is maybe 10 lbs overweight, nevermind, he lost that around Christmas, without even trying. He is supportive, but does like to eat good tasting foods, so that is a challenge, but I am determined to keep moving in a positive direction, even if it's as slow as a 1/2 pound a week. I refuse to lose those ten lbs, then bounce up 20 more, back up to 300lbs. I thnk this site will be good, it's realistic, helpful, easy to use, and the chatting and support seem to be great so far(this is my 3rd day).
hi girls,
thanks for replying!
well this time we're in it for the long run. I think that a lot of times our motivation may be the relationship we are in or the pople around us... But that' ot out REASON. Motivtion is always welcome, but the reason i clear: we want to feel better. Let's keep going!!!
(I have a cold... This puts a damper on playing DDR because it makes me short of breath.... For now then, I'll be eating very healthfully and as soon as I'm better, the calories will be cut)
i'm almost 22 and about 200 lbs.  i'm down with you! :)  its hard for me to eat healthy since none of my friends feel the need to, but with proper support it should get easier. :)
hi flora. i can relate very much, did many diets, always jo-joed back...
One thing i for sure... yo-yoing sucks.

Sometimes i get these spurts of i-must-lose-weight-now and drop 10 pounds, only to regain them a little slower than i dropped them....

What are you all doing for exercise?

Oh, i found a nice little booster trick for that horrible bloating we get once a month... Diurex water pills. you start then a couple days before your perdiod and take them as directed during, so you don't retain water (and bloat) it helps a lot, so you dont feel discouraged when you see those 4 pounds of water around your thighs for a week... :)

i only walk at the moment, plan to exercise more asi lose weight (it would be too much for my ankles to jog or do aerobic exercises right now, as there is too much weight)!

i do not want to take any diuretics, maybe only if i have a health problem and doctor specifically prescribes them to me-i prefer the natural way and honestly sort of dislike pills:-)
