New and ready for a change!
Hey all! I'm Sarah. 26, single mom, and ready for a new outlook on life!
I've never been thin- through high school I stayed around 150-180. I was able to get down to 145, then I became pregnant, and went through some tough times, and I'm now almost 100 pounds more than my highest weight 10 years ago.
I've tried so many different way to lose weight- and failed at all of them. Last spring I managed to lose about 30 pounds, but gained it all back plus some after I had a breakdown.
I have to take meds for bipolar, which does NOT help me lose weight. But I am finally determined enough to follow through and get back down to my former weight.
I am not looking to be a size 2. A size 16 would be fine by me! Heck, anything is better than a 22/24.
This place seems positive, helpful, and most of all, supportive. I'm glad I stumbled across it!
I feel your pain. I too have lots to lose. However, I didn't just have a baby. None the less, I want to be a size 12 or 14. That's like 75 lbs to lose. Let's just stick with it and know that if we eat less and exercise more the weight has to go. Calories in vs Calories out = your weight. I'm planning to work very hard at this all summer. I'm increasing my excerise by walking more. I'm writing down every thing I eat here on the food log. And....I'm praying for God's supernatural help. I'll pray for you too. Kathy
Hey :)
There is such a thing as size 2? Wouldn't that be more like a 10 year old girl? In regular shops in my country, the smallest size you can get in women's is US size 6. You might find a size 4 occasionally but it's mainly sizes 6 - 14. Anything above that is 'plus sized' and anything below is children's wear!
I want to be a size 10 in American sizes (or 12 in my country). I'm a US 16 at the moment. I just want to be able to go into ANY shop and have clothes fit me. At my size, I have to go to plus sized shops and I don't like the clothes.
I understand how medications make you gain weight, I have been off mine for 3 months now. It's hard, I am having severe withdrawals like dizzy spells, craving the medication etc. They say they're not addictive but I don't believe it. I'm studying natural medicine/nutrition at college so I'm trying to replace my old medication with natural alternatives.
Sometimes it's OK totext in a restaurant.
