New Running shoes, should I keep them?

I haven't bought new gym shoes in forever, and since I've started doing this walk/run combination, I thought I would treat myself and get something I could run in as well as gym use.  I got some Brooks shoes.

Anywho, I wore them once day before yesterday, and the left one rubbed a blister on my heel.  I was hobbling by the time I got back home.    I couldn't wear them yesterday because the blister area was still too raw (even with a band aid), so I wore my old shoes.

Will these things stretch out or should I just return them? It's weird it was only the left one that hurt me.

What's your experience?

Is this with wearing socks? I'd never go walking or running without a light pair of socks on, just the ankle ones. If you were wearing socks, I'd say return them. Consider going to a running store and getting fitted for shoes? It is a good idea to replace your old ones if you have had them for a very long time. With running it's around 6 months, but it varies with how much distance is done with them. Ascis are the best running shoe imo and New Balance are also really good. There's also different kind of shoes, walking, cross training, running, etc so make sure you have the proper type for running especially if the wlaking/running progresses into more running :)

Return them!  Some running/walking shoes will tear up your feet, and most people's feet are not exactly the same size, one foot is slightly bigger than the other so you have to fit the shoes to that foot.

Definitely return them if they're causing sores; your foot won't change shape and neither will the shoe (well, not for a long time anyways) so get yourself a pair that fits you well and lets do what you bought them for.

Also, keep the blister open to the air for a while (as long as its been drained) and put on some rubbing alcohol later, it hurts like hell but it helps toughen up the skin again and makes it less raw (works for me). :)
