New here and my Second Day
Hello everyone. This is my second day and I really like this site. The picture is not me but my icon from Devil May Cry. Hoping to make friends and get advice. Nice to meet everyone. Appreciate any suggestions on this great service or advice. Thanks
I'm new too. Hoping this will help. Feel like I'm learning a lot. Kind of an eye opener. Didn't realize how far I had wandered from a healthy diet.

Nice to meet you too Beadgrrl. I agree. I have been eating healthy but on and off. I would eat healthy for 5 days of the week and 2 days would be some junk. But this is a great way to count calories that I normally do in my head and estimate.

Oooh. We're friends now. Boy. I think this site is just what I needed. For me it's not so much of a willpower thing, it's more of an awareness thing. I needed a food accountant to show me where I was going wrong.
This is day 2 for me as well. I don't have any high expectations but I figure it might help. It told me I needed to drop 20lbs. Gulp. You?
Hey beadgrrl. I agree. This site is what I really needed. Just a good log of what I eat. For me its not a will power thing neither. I can control what I eat but I am really weak against cakes. Dont know why but it is in my house I will eat it. Your lucky you only have to drop 20 pounds. I have to drop a whopping 69 pounds and I have a big frame. Between work, things in my personal life and at home I really let myself go. Never again though. Plus, eating was a good way to forget my problems. So, we are in this together. If you need anything feel free to send a pm. BTW, my real name is Adam. How about yours? You dont have to tell me if you do not want to. Just nice knowing some one here.
Cake is good. My weakness is pretty much anything chocolate. Sigh.

Feel free to PM me when the cake is calling, or any time really. 69 pounds sounds like it will be a long thing, but I suspect that once we become aware of our personal pitfalls it will get easier. I hope. I saw some posts from others on here (older members) where they were saying that now they have a hard time eating enough to reach their minimum so I think it's possible.

I've been on this site for a few months now, and it is an eye opener to see how much calories you consume in a day. It has really helped me to realize my weaknesses and keep on track and lose weight slowly and in a healthy way. I have about 125 lbs to lose, so it's a journey. Oh, about some of the posts on minimum calories. I think there are is a large diversity of members on CC, from people who are overweight to bulemic and anorexic. So, it helps people stay on track in a lot of ways. I can tell you that I have no problem, meeting my minimum amt. of calories in a day, so I think some of those posts are from people dealing with anorexia or bulemia. Good luck, my name is Lisa. Hey Jo. Yeah, chocolate is not my weakness. Dunno, never had a huge craving for it. Cake is and I havent touched in a while. I can eat a lot sometimes like 3000 calories in a day but never exceed that. Good to know that I can come to you. 69 is a lot but I figure that a balanced diet, working out everyday and Hydroycut should help me achieve my goal. I am really determined. Hmm, eating enough to keep up their minimums. My brother actually crashed in his diet and the outcome was really bad. I think that maybe I am eating too little now. I usually eat 1700-1800 calories a day. Although 2500 is recommended for me. I cant see myself eating that much and I end feeling guilty and think that I am going to get in the hole that I was in. I smoke so that kinda kills my appetite. Anything is possible I think but finding a balance is what is really needed. Its a fine line making your body think its crashing or getting enough. I have done so much research on this, hard do see what actually works.
Hi Lisa. Yeah, this site is great for counting calories. I actually have a problem eating my minimum. I am supposed to eat around 2800 calories a day according to calorie count but that is just too much for me. I dont see my self eating that much. But slow and steady is the way to go though. Nice to meet you.
Auronx2000: From the research that I have done about dieting and calorie counting, women should consume no less then 1200 calories a day and for men they should not consume no less then 1500 a day. So, for you if you keep your goal around 1500, you should see some results.
By no means am I a doctor on this stuff, these are things that I have just read and every body is different. Just some friendly information I wanted to pass along.

Hello to everyone here! My name is Linda and I just found this today by accident. It is pretty cool. I am 47 and I quit smoking on March 22nd and I have gained weight since. I am small framed and 8 lbs, and as far as 11 lbs, brings me out of my clothes. So back to the working out and trying to eat less. I am trying to nip it in the bud before it gets out of control. My weakness.... PASTA. I absolutely love it. with grated cheese and sauce of course. Anyway I just wanted to say hi to everyone. :)

I'm usually a lurker on these boards but decided this week that I needed to get involved. I'm an introvert by nature so I hope the anonymity of these boards will allow me to express myself.
I've lost 57 lbs. over the last 3 agonizingly slow years and have 37 lbs. to go. While I'm not a fitness expert, I've certainly read my share of anything having to do with losing weight/exercising. I enjoy working out and do so a minimum of 5 days per week. What I enjoy most are Step aerobics classes at the gym. So fun! I absolutely love to chat about fitness and often bore my co-workers and family with nutrition lessons! After being heavy most of my life, I love my new healthy lifestyle and want to share with everyone. :o)
I'm thrilled because I broke through a plateau I've been on for 5 miserable weeks. At least I hope I broke through it. We'll see next week. I'm supposed to eat 1654 cal./day but was only eating 1200-1400. I guess I have to practice what I preach and not let myself go into starvation mode.
I'm a great cook, love to garden and am an avid reader (when I have the time to sit that is). I live in No. California, have one 9 yo daughter and have been married for 12 years. My weakness is ice cream. Love it! Especially during those hot California summers.
I hope to make some friends who know what it's like to have weight/fitness issues to motivate me through the last of my weight loss and beyond.
