New to the site- trying to lose baby weight and then some...

Quote  |  Reply

Hi, my name Nicole I have a 5 and 1/2 month old and a 2 year old.  I am finally fed up with how I look and feel.  I am really hoping this site will help me stay on track.  I can't really blame my weight on my baby because I did lose all the weight I gained from my preganacy, but it is more like weight I gained after my 1st pregnancy.

Anyone in the same situation?

I'm in the same boat.  I gained 50 lbs with my first kid and lost all but 10 lbs.  I had my second kid and gained 40 lbs and didn't lose any weight after I had her (in fact, I gained 10-15 lbs more!).  I started to lose weight (I had lost almost 25 lbs) and got pregnant again.  I didn't gain any weight with my last one, but I didn't lose any either.

Now I'm working on it and have lost 5 lbs. in one week.  I guess I just needed to start dieting and exercising instead of just chasing after babies.  It helps that I don't eat the junk my kids eat any more!!Laughing

If you don't mind me asking what exactly are you doing that is working for you?

I recently started walking/jogging with my dog in the evenings 3 times a week, and now that I am counting my calories I hope there will be results. I have had plenty of people tell me that I will lose the weight chasing after a 2 year old, well it's not working.....

Hi Nicole,

I just joined Calorie Count and am definitely in the same boat as you!

I had a baby this past April. I thought I was good with only gaining 42lbs. When I had her, I immediately lost about 25lbs but then I went back to work! Once there, I gained about 15 of those pounds back and am anxious to get this weight off COMPLETELY!

I can't blame all this weight on the baby any more...she is 9 months old now! My goal is to loose the baby weight and some I had gained right before I got pregnant... in total that's 50+ pounds I need to loose.  So far I really like calorie counter. It's very helpful!!  B/tween this, my 6 days a week work outs at the gym I should be at my goal weight by the summer time!

I have already lost 10lbs since December 26th. I am well on my way but would definitely like to chat with anyone who in the same boat as us! The more encouragement the better!  Good luck ladies.

Hey Nicole!

I am definitely feeling what you are going through. I have three boys, my youngest is 6 months old. I gained 50 pounds with the last pregnancy, quite a bit more than the other two. I am 5'3 and weigh 144 pounds, my goal is 125. So far I have lost 11 pounds by counting calories and working out. I attribute some of my issues to the fact that I am 30 now and the weight won't just fall off by itself this time. I didn't have the same attitude about losing the weight this time though. With my other two pregnancies as soon as I gave birth I thought about losing the weight and started immediately. This time I've been so busy working full-time and non stop at home I kept putting the weight issue aside. I have gotten serious about it and have changed a lot of things in my day to help me reach my goal!! Good luck!

Hi guys!  Same boat!  I have four kiddos.  I just had the last one on December 2nd.  I didn't lose all of my weight from the third baby before I got pregnant with the fourth.  I hadn't lost all of the weight from the second baby before I got pregnant with the third, and I hadn't lost all of the weight from the first baby when I got pregnant with the second!  It is an uphill battle!  I keep packing on the pounds!  Well...no more babies if I can help it....God is in control on that one...but I just started this website today, so I am hoping for results sooner rather than later.  My doctor keeps trying to tell me that I am still swollen...but goodness...how long can one person stay swollen!  I can't even wear my wedding ring still!!  I think my fingers just got fatter...I don't think it has anything to do with water weight!  I am there with you guys!  Now I need to get my husband to dig the treadmill out of the garage.  We just moved shortly before baby number 4 was born...a lot of our stuff is still in the garage!  Maybe I should just move all of that in...that will work up a sweat!  My doctor also told me that anything that increases heartrate is great, and as long as your heart rate is increased, you continue to lose calories....basically it doesn't matter how hard you push yourself, as long as you are CONSTANTLY doing something that increases your heartrate you are burning those pesky calories.
