Hey all...
I'm new here...trying to be a "good girl" but I'm so stressed in my life in general, I just feel overwhelmed.
I'm divorcing, 30yr old single mother, 5'2", and currently weigh in at 226lbs. That was as of this morning.
That alone truly makes me ill...
I went to a physician who's is "famous" with regard to his diet plan. I'm sticking to everything...but I just can't seem to shake the stress, anxiety...the feeling of eminent doom and failure.
In less than 6 months, I LITERALLY had my entire life turned upside down and torn apart. So, I think I'm still reeling. I'm so set on losing weight though because I hate what I see, what I feel, and I know it's now or it's only going to get more difficult.
Any words of wisdom?
Thanks all!!!
I am 40. I am also 5'2 and I started on January 12 at 250. I am now 210.8.
The only thing I can really tell you is that there will be good and bad days as you go along. Just remember in the long run it will be worth it.
This is the longest in a long time that I have stuck to losing weight. I feel so much better but I still have a long ways ahead of me. This is a life change and not just some fad diet so I have to stick with something that I can handle the rest of my life.
Good luck to you and it gets somewhat easier as you go along.
Hi Sabrina and welcome to CC+
I've been with the site since the fall and I am down 50lbs now, yeah! Still have 50lbs to go but doing fine despite recently separating from my husband also. Life's stresses just keep coming but learning to take good care of your health is top priority and my new focus. Think of everyday as something great you've done just for yourself and those who you take care of.
Log all your calories, eat healthy and learn to incorporate excercise. This has work for me and many, many CC+ members.
You can do it too!
Hi Sabrina! Glad you are here. I'm a new member, 209 and am trying to lose 60. I too have been experiencing some incredible stresses lately in my life. I was also stressing about losing weight. So you know what I did??? I decided to go gung ho and make this site my favorite place to visit and to listen to others, and give what little advice I think I can to help out. Hang in there and start chatting to everyone. Boast over even your smallest achievement, we are your cheering section. Make some buddies, take that step and have a great journey.
Hi Sabrina
I started using this site in October and i was going through some stress. its like someone has already said stress will come along in your life but what i suggest you do is prioritise things in your life. You are probably the most important person in your life, even if you have children. If you are not felling happy within yourself then you will not be able to instill that into other aspects of your life such as family, relationships, work etc.
The first thing you need to do is concentrate on your health. Find what works for you and incorporate a healthier lifestyle. Always follow your instinct if you feel like having a day off from exercise then do this, but make sure you are conscious of what you are eating.
I'm really sorry if it seems as though i am being direct or even making getting healtheir easy. I know how hard it is to do. I had to dramatically change what i eat and pay for a personal trainer $80 a month plus a gym membership of $120. No i couldn't really justify paying out this money but i had to prioritise and felt there is nothing more important then my health. You have done the right thing to get some positive thoughts, its now time for you to start your new life and be happy x
Is jump roping as good an exercise as running?
In terms of calorie burning, moderate jumping is about equal to running a 10-minute mile, although calorie burning is always a function of time... Read more
