Tips: Keep a 500 cal deficit for starters.... and then work on adding in new stuff as you go along. (maybe add in a little exercise regularly, find a goal, or work on refining your diet).
Do you have a weight goal or idea of when or what results you want? :)

thanks Mel i would like to lose 3 stone by March 2009 ? do u think thats realistic :) im not sure tho if this is possible i work in an housing office 3 days a week, i am hoping to start walking my dog more often tho, im sure any little bit of excercise would help me.
So Mel do you mean i should stick with 500 cals per day ? i think today ive had 604 ??

welcome to the sight .. Have you tried the tools yet ... They will help you with how many cals you should take in a day and you can even keep track of your cals and your burn on your home profile... No, not 500 calories per day consumed, a 500 calorie deficit. That means you should burn 500 calories more than you consume in a day (but never eat less than 1200 calories/day) to lose at a healthy rate.

Agreed. For starters take a look at your home page. Check your "Burn meter" It should give you what you've burnt thus far and what you are expected to burn today. Put yourself as sedentary bc you don't get much activity in. Then just add the activity as you do it... (I.e. walking dog for 30 mins) and check the difference in your burn meter. Then shoot for 500 cals less than what the burnt meter total estimate is. I Don't know how much a stone is but for example: 3500 cals is equal to 1lb of fat. So just try to defeat 500 cals less than what you burn daily... after a week or 10 days you will lose about 1lb. You want to shoot for about 3-5lbs a month, and you will get great results... not too baggy of skin and you can slowly adapt to the changes you'll need to make in life to keep it off. :)
