new to this - trying to figure out the site - help please :)

I'm new to this, just signed up a couple of days ago. It seems pretty cool though, and I like that that are so many foods listed with their calorie content. Although, I do not find everything all the time, but that's OK.

The main reason I started doing this is that I know what I eat. And of course I want to loose some weight too. Maybe one day I will fit in a Size 6 dress... :) Also, I want to have a log on my excersice, so I remember what day I did what etc.

I don't really understand the Burn Meter thing though. Until now I was just putting in the food I ate and also the excersice I did. But I just noticed that there is a calorie count for everything we do. Even tv watching. Uncanny. :) So I started putting in today's housework and everything else, but boy, it's time comsuming. I don't really want to spend this much time on it. Is there any way that we can add from our tagged items more than one at a time? Also with food. I know I will have a cup of coffee everymorning, is there a way just put it in for "always"?

Please help. It's a very good site, but I don't want it to consume my day. That's not my intention. Thanks!

If you set the burn meter to sedentary you have to enter your activities. Otherwise, it averages for you. Like if you select moderate activity that means -

Moderate Activity
  • At work - you are very active much of the day
  • At home - you rarely sit and do heavy housework or gardening
  • Exercise - you exercise several times a week and push yourself pretty hard
Therefore on that setting, no need to put in your usual activity, but you would add it if you ran a marathon that day.

Actually, the Sedentary burn meter assumes basic functions of life - i.e eating, walking to the rest room...you got the idea....
Set your activity level for sedentary and than only add in anything *extra* you do - as it proper exercise

Thanks guys for the help. That clears it up. Now I don't have to spend soooo much time by adding stuff to the log. :)
I'm not sure if I can really explain it play with the tags.  I've tagged a couple of things as breakfast and then when I click breakfast those items come up.  Be sure to tag them in the serving proportion that you woudl add when adding it to your log.
