New and Want Buddies!

Quote  |  Reply

Hi my name is Lisa. I'm 38 and a first time Mommy to a one year old baby girl. I have about 60 lbs to lose, and am hoping to find a buddy or buddies so we can keep keep eachtoher motivated, share tips, etc.  :)

Currently, I rarely exercise Embarassed but am seeing my doc tomorrow to see what he recommends for exercise. I'm doing great at eating healthy food and have been losing since before I joined here, without really trying.

Please let me know if you are interested in being my buddy! Thanks..

Hi Lisa

I'm not a mommy but I'm new looking for buddies on here too. I'm 31 in two weeks! I don't want to loose as much as you but when I've lost about 30 lbs I want to work hard at maintaining it, as my weight yo yo's and I want to keep it off this time!

I have quite bad knees so don't run or jog but I go on a stepper 1-3 times a week depending on how busy I am and I'm going to start Ashtanga Yoga, just from a DVD. Its quite vigorous yoga but its great for flexibility, relaxation, strength AND it burns fat.

Food wise I'm just getting in loads of fruit and low fat crackers to snack on and just eating sensibly, but I still have the odd chocolate bar!

Anyway, the main thing I need, is to keep up motivation. I always start well but then loose the determination so using this resource and being in a group is probably a very good thing for me!

Good luck and keep me posted!

Hello Ladies,

I am a mom of 2 children.  My son is 5 and my daughter just turned 3.  I am 31 and new to CC.   I reached my all time high at 200lbs and would love to lose 70lbs.   I do not lead a very active life besides chasing after my children but last night I started water aerobics.   It is so much fun.  I never knew a person can sweat the way I did in water.   The instructor is intense but it is great she keeps you motivated.   I find it easier then going to the gym.  My muscles don't ache like they do after the gym.  LOL

My eatings habits have started to change since CC.  I am more aware of my portion sizes and my calorie intake.  I still have the urge to have that bowl of ice cream and piece of cake and sometimes I give in.  We are not perfect and we slip sometimes and I am hoping by meeting people her it will help keep me motivated in my adventure.

Good luck to you both.  Hope to share tips and ideas with soon.

Hi I am new too

I am married with 2 kids aged 6 and 11.  I need to lose up to 68lbs in weight although I would be happy with 50lbs.  This site predicts I will reach my target weight by Jan 2011!

I am normally a manager and have a fairly inactive life.  However I am currently unemployed and try to walk to school and back 0.6 miles each way, plus do housework, and do belly dancing once a week!

I did lose weight with Tesco diets but quite slowly as I wasn't exercising.  Can't afford the diet subs anymore, so trying to eat healthily and log my food intake on here while also exercising more.

Happy to link up....

Hi, I am new too.  I am 38 years old and need to lose 40 lbs.  I don't exercise regulary other than daily things like mowing the yard, cleaning house, etc... I have a job where I sit at a desk all day too. So I find it very hard to lose weight!

Hi I'm new too.. was hoping some of my facebook friends would want to do this but no luck. :( no one wants o be my weight loss buddy, Oh well anyone that wants to friend me from here would be great I need accountability darn it! Maybe someone to discuss nutrition and fitness and not teenie-boopers that want to hurt themselves to be a size 0. I'm all about the health!

Edit: Opps forgot to tell a little about me

I'm 30, in 2007 I lost my grandmother to liver cancer and that motivated me to lose weight. At the time I weighed around 270 maybe 280 I didn't have a scale at first so I don't know. I started working out and read everything I could about nutrition. over the course of 2008 I lost about 90-100lbs went from a size 26 to a size 16. I pretty much took off all of 2009 to recoup but managed through just eating healthy and staying active to drop another size into a 14. Six months ago I briefly flirted with trying to lose the rest of the weight and get down to a size 8 or 6 but timing wasn't on my side and life got in the way. I'm feeling really motivated to finish the job and finally reach my  final goal and be in a single digit pant size for the first time since I was a kid.

Well just added you to my friend's list I would be happy to be your friend and give you the encouragement and support you need.

Yay! Thanks. Every bit helps Smile
