HEY, I'll lose 8 lbs (or more) with you.

So, we start today?  Sounds like a plan  ;)

Well, I already walk 3-6 miles a day, but I'm thinking I need to change "something" because it's not working anymore.  I started weight training..... (well I've only done it once so far lol... and for some STRANGE reason, only my left arm was sore)  I did the same amount of reps on both...... oh well lol

SO, what's your diet like?  I count calories because I am absolutely in love with carbs.... so counting carbs wouldn't be an option for me.  I eat around 1200-1500 calories a day.... I do however have days that I eat 1000..... or even 1800..... it depends.   If I over eat on calories, I eliminate some things through out the week to make up for it.

What is your exercise routine like? 
i am also a carb-lover. i eat between 1500-1700 calories usually. and i go to the gym now. and i think i am going to go to the gym about 3 times a week. and i have gymnastics every thursday for an hour. my workout routine is basically ski machine, treadmill, stationary bike, and weight training. i also have fit tv and i do workouts on there.
Hey Ya'll, If you allow me to join you I would like to lose 8lbs this month, and help motivate, encourage and celebrate with ya'll at the same time. I am just a wee bit larger than ya'll I am 6'2" redneck from Arkansas (stuck in Washington, active duty military) and currently at 285 lbs. (Hey I am down 63 lbs from a year ago)  

Starting weight = 285 lbs (this morning at Weight Watchers)

Finish weight = 277 lbs or less

Goal weight = 240 lbs

DREAM WEIGHT = 200 lbs (I have not weighed this since I graduted high school)

Let's do this!!!

My exercise habits: I preface this by saying that a year ago I could barely do 30 minutes at 3 miles an hour!!!   Ellipitical machine 5-6 days a week for 45(4.5) - 60(6.5) minutes/miles a session, weight training (just added back in),  crunches,  biking, hiking, sports

My eating habit: Being from the South I am a definite Meat and Potatoes boy. But for now that is only once in a great while. I have cut back drastically on my calories. I am trying to stay under 1500 a day. (I average about 1400-1600). I eat plenty of veggies, chicken and fish. The weight watchers thing maybe going to teh wayside, I joined there back in March and the comradery is nice, but I no longer follow their way of tracking food. They are set up on a point system. They said that it was neccessary to stay as close to that point total as possible, well, when I did that I was gaining weight. I started counting calories (not my favorite thing to do) and found that the way I eat I was eating almost 3000 calories a day to stay close to my point value. The secret was the veggies you eat don't earn you points, but they still add calories!

moodymomma1977 - You are right handed aren't you? The reason why the left side is the only side that hurt is because it is weaker than your right. It is going to take more to develope your left side than your right.

Would love to join. Have fallen off the wagon recently with depression and have got 12lbs to lose (AGAIN!).

Getting back into exercise and training for a half marathon and feeling much happier so that should help but need motivation to keep off my usual feast or famine diet and lose the weight slowly and keep it off.

I'm 5'4" and weigh 133lbs.  I'm really looking to lose 7lbs.  I've just come back from a boot camp in Portugal, and although I didnt loose as much weight as I would have liked to, I have definately come back with a different mind set - which is probably more important.

i would love to join, cc put my ultimate goal date in feb next year, so i could do with a short term goal. im 5,9, currently 175 (down from 188 since end of May) and aiming for around 140.

ive cut my calories as low as im comfortable, so the only thing to budge for me is exercise, and i have to admit, i do pretty much nothing at the moment. i was planning on starting the learn to run 5k program though, and i should be walking further. id like to try and get swimming as well.

sooo, i guess my plan now is to run sat, mon, wed, fri. walk 4 miles sun, tues, thurs. and swim sun tues and thurs.

not sure ill make 8lbs, but its something to strive for

Count me in....what's the plan, how do I join in? 
I would love to join! I weigh 188 and my goal weight is 135 so I have a long way to go!  Thats what happens when you get pregnant and dont do anything for over 9 months! LOL!  I usually eat around 1400 calories a day, my downfall is soda.  I love coke, and am having a hard time getting over it.  I have however cut back, I only drink 2 now instead of 4.  My workout usually consists of spinning class, lifting weights, and sit ups...have any of you ever taken a spinning class?  It is a great way to drop calories fast, my class lasts 30  minutes and I usually burn over 350 calories.
  I am new to the site and this is my first challenge, but I think we should all post at least once a week (I will be posting Mondays) with start weight, current weight and goal weight. I can already hear everyone asking "Why in the world would you want to post your weight on a Monday, the weekends are so hard!" That is exactly my reason for posting on Mondays! The thought of having to weigh-in and POST it on Monday makes you think harder about what you eat over the weekend. I am a good ol' southern boy that loves his meat and taters, and the summer weekends kill me with all the BBQ's. it seems that every Fri afternoon until Sun afternoon I hear the Burgers and Beer calling my name! So, I will be posting Monday's for my own good.

  I think the only one who can actually set the day we post though is Malissa_lws so it is up to her!! We are waiting malissa_lws, show us the way!!!!

  I want to say hello to superjenb, entersandlady, platypipearson, carolina_mom and jessica3132!!!! I will be here everyday throwing out encouragement so let's go and lose the weight we are all trying to lose!!!!

Update for me:

Start weight = 285

Current weight = 281 (as of yesterday after workout)

Goal weight = 277 or less!!

P.S. Just in case some of you haven't noticed I am much larger than everyone else in here, If I can come down over 60 pounds already then each of you WILL lose all the weight you want to lose.

Losing/Maintaining weight is a LIFESTYLE change and not a DIET!!!

I am new to the site too papa3169, and this is also my first challenge! 
trust me i didn't leave just wanted to round up some more people. ok lets set weigh ins for wenesdays9not inclluding today) . Ok so let start with our pledges. I pledge to eat 1700-1800 calories per day, exercise at the gym 2x a week, run 2x a week for a half an hour, and  not eat or binge anymore on junk food. I also hope we can support each other and in the long run we can all be happy, healthy, and weigh less!

I weigh 150lbs at 5' 10" my goal weight is 130 lbs.

Weaknesses, Fried foods, burgers, meats, mac and cheese .. wait a minute every food is my weakness, once it tastes good I love IT!!

Starting weight: 142 (as of this morning, I put a pound on somehow)

Goal for August: 134

Long Term goal weight: 126

Excercise habbits: Usually a run or walking. Although for the past five days it's kind of NOT happened. Usually weights twice a week if my legs can take it!

Eating habbits: On a rest day, 1,200. On a work-out day, 1,200 plus whatever I worked out.
My main bad habbit is my love for carbs and chocolate. :/

I WILL go out there and do my excercise, even if it's raining. If it's raining, I'll just get wet!!!
If it is not too late I would love to join!  I am new to this site and would love to do a challenge to have some support from  others.

Excercise Habbits: Three weeks ago I started going back to the gym and I was doing really well at first but then starting making excuses for reasons that I did not need to go.  I try to do both cardio and lift every time I go to the gym.

Eating habbits: I am a SUPER picky eater and I have never counted calorites before, that is new to me. So I am just trying to use this next week and the tools on this site to get a better feel for the amount of calories that I consume and where I need to cut out.

I'm excited to be in this with all of you!!  We are going to do great :)
Hey there toyie, Welcome, and I like you love my food!! it showed when I hit 348 lbs. You can always count on me for encouragement!! Post your starting weight, current weight and goal weight every Wed. (at least that is when we are supposed to post them) I will probably post mine more often. Hey you got an extra room done there, I have never been to the Caribbean and would love to come down that way someday! (Only jokin' about the extra room)

Lozzle, hello and welcome, 3 days late is better than never starting, right?!!!!! I see from your profile that you are from Great Britian, I got to visit right after I graduated High School many years ago! Got to go to London, but the thing I loved was just driving through the countryside. I would love to hike from one end to the other checking out all the castles.

eddoolittle, Welcome to the challenge, I think the majority of the "contestants" are new to the site. I am also new, sign up about 2 months ago but only used it to look up calories until earlier this week. The calories add up quicker than what you may think, (I thought the same way until I took a LONG HARD LOOK at what I was TRUELY eating. A trick I learned for working out, if you don't already do this try it, do your weights first it helps get your body pumped up and it will not be as exhausting when you do youor carido. (The endorphines your body produces helps with the cardio).

Ok, the only thing that kills me is a bunch of you are typing in weights that begin with a "1". I started out with a "3" and in four and a half months (that is when I got serious about losing my weight) have brought down my weight to 280 as of today. That is a total of 68 pounds. I am here to encourage us ALL, and we will ALL lose our 8 pounds. The reason I say that is because if I can do it anyone can.
The countryside in England is lovely. I adore it. I come from a small village on the outskirts of notingham, but had to move into the city due to family reasons, and I really miss it. Lukily, I live close to a wood, so, when the weather gets a little nicer I'm thinking about going on some walks through the woods. Last time I went I was walking for three hours straight!!!

Haha. Hiking from one end to the other checking out the castles seems really fun, it'd just take some SERIOUS time!! haha!!

Hopefully when I learn how to drive I'll be able to drive up to the more rural parts and go for nice long walks. Walking in the same areas all the time gets a little tedious after a while. Haha. I could drive up to sherwood forest and go on walks there and such - the day will come when I learn how to drive. :]
i am so happy you guys are all joining us. Toyie, you are at a perfect weight for you height. you are tall and you do not need to lose weight. please understand this. ok everyyone in the Weight loss Forum I started a challenge just like this one. if you want  you guys can go over there and join more people or we can stay here, i can can talk to the both of you. so it would be great if i knew what you wanted to do.
