New Year's Weight Loss Count Down... Starting September 2nd Ending December 30th...CLOSED!

Quote  |  Reply

Hello everyone, here is the Group Plan Layout.

I will be closing this after I get my first 25. I think we can get to know each other a lot better if we keep it small. It hasn't grown as big as I thought it would over night, but I am looking for more people to join.

So, 25 is the number of people I'm looking for.

As for weigh'ns. I would like to get that ball rolling as well.

Every Monday will be our weigh'n day. Starting Monday 8th.

I  also want us to share our plans for the month ahead.

Focus points will be giving monthly.

This month Focus points will be.

Water 60oz to 80oz a day.
2 Fruits per day. " To cut down on sugar cravings."
1 salad per day and Steamed Veggie. "We need veggies in our diet."
Chewing gum. To deal with those no no cravings. Just chew gum if you know you ate something just 10 mins ago. I always grab fruit- but gum does work.
Cardio every day, and resistance training twice a week.
And share your feelings when you feel you are going to jump the wagon. We need to share so we can help each other.

What is your one goal for the month? " No matter what you choose, work on that one goal for the month. It really pays off."

My one goal for the month is to get back into my cardio workout.

This is a start.

Hit the road happy, and let's make this happen.

( The rest of the story about this group is in motivation.)

I think I might be too late, but if not I would love to join.  I have discovered that I need a support/accountability group to keep me going.  I do my weigh ins on Mondays already and can stay on track with this group.

Name: Kara

Age: 25

Height: 5' 6"

Weight: 207

Goal Weight (for Dec. 30): 187

After 2.5 months of focusing on work and other people my goal this month is to focus on myself.  That includes my health, social life, and peace of mind.

If I make it into the group, I am looking forward to the next few months.  Good luck to all of you!

Hi, like the last couple of posts, I hope I'm not too late either.

I'd like to join the group to help motivate myself.  I tend to be very self-motivated and disciplined but lately it's just not happening.  I've gained 5 pounds this summer and turned 37 and my metabolism has stopped!  It seriously seems much harder to lose weight.

Name: Tisha

Age: 37

Height: 5' 2"

Weight: 116

Goal: 105

Plan:  My plan is to keep my food journal up-to-date and stick between 1200 and 1500 calories.  I'd also like to stick to my weekly exercise schedule - 5 days of cardio (typically running although it's getting a little dark in the morning) and 2 days of strength training.  Finally, I need to cut back on the red wine on Friday and Saturday nights.  I'm not a lush but a couple of glasses adds calories and reduces the will power!

Antika, Karabsbg, and Queenlatisha~ Welcome!

I now have my 25 plus 1 I think, but hey who cares- you all are in. Welcome again..... If there is more. I'm willing to take you all in.. I hope they sign in before Sunday. I feel I can keep up with 30 people, so I do have room for more. I just upped my intake of people to 30.. Then after 30..... I guess I am going to have to shut it down. I don't want too, but I need to be able to keep up with everyones progress, and report there lost... I want to motivate people, and I am free enough to do it. Let's kick the fat girls...

Antika, I just had a B day myself. Turned 31 last weekend. OY! I feel great.

Welcome once again ladies :)

Hey lynnhaslost, I'd love to talk weight training! Last year I was doing a lot of free weights, basically just following the stumptuous.com dumbell workouts. I love that website! I'm afraid I've probably lost a lot of the strength gains I made though as I really haven't lifted at all this summer :(

I love the idea of this group though; thanks for starting it!

Hey Parkagirl, You know-weight training is the best thing ever. I started to go to www.bodyforlife.com. I hope I linked that right. After reading the book.  I was hooked, not only that. I was hooked on the man who wrote the book. He's effing HOT! Whoosh, only if I can find a man who looked as half as good as he does.. Honey..... Motivation, come back to me.... He's just sexy... Anyway, after reading his book, and following his eating plan.. I wanted my body to look good. Not only that. I just wanted me again, and I use to lift years ago. I missed it. Not only that. I missed having the power within as well.. Lifting weights can send a girl into DIVA big head MODE, and that was me... Still me a little, but if you got any questions or have any tips.... Let me know.

My favorite thing to do is.. Work on my tights. I can press 300 with ease now, and the thing I hate now is.. I can't do it for another 6 months. I pulled a hammie. I can do it.. But I got to press that baby weight. Like 20 and work myself back up. Darn hammie injury, and I didn't hurt my hammie doing the thing I love... I was doing dead lifts....... Dammit.. I should have just stopped after I did my first 2 sets, but hard headed me wanted to show boat a little :P I'll okay! That's what I yelled when I hurt myself.. Tried to be a big girl and walk it off, and I went down for the count.. LOL... We have to take care of ourself. I mean really.. Nothing is wrong with a woman lifting weights, and guess what.. I can get down and kick butt like them men in the gym.. LOL.. I hold my own... I can't wait to you get back into it... Someone who loves lifting weights.....

Do you got your plan mapped out for that??? IF not! I got a good plan you can do...

Sign me up. I was in a weight lost challenge earlier this year I lost a total of thirty-nine pounds. I only put six pounds back on but I know it's because I stopped working out.

This months goal: start working out  walking 3x a week for 45 minutes or more go to the gym 3x a week and lift weights and do my HIIT workout. Eat more friut and vegetables I'll cut out alot of  carbs and increase my fiber and water intake.

Hi Working Wendy, I see we have another wendy in the group, that's great. I think we got two girls in here with the same name... That's great..

Well, I'm glad you are here.... Welcome, and we will see you on Monday, don't forget. Monday is the startung date... We are getting down to business on Monday....

I'm adding you to my list..

Take care,

~Lynn

Working wendy is actually my mom. I'd just like to welcome her to her first challenge on calorie count.

WOOO, go momma!

Thank you for the welcomes, and Jenn, you go girl!

My first goal for September is to change my morning cup of coffee. I'm addicted to Tim Horton's coffee, and I just can't give it up. I started out with a double-double, but then changed to a double cream one sweetener when I found out I was diabetic.

My daughter gave me a reality check regarding how many calories are in my coffee (144, with 12g of fat!! woah), I am going to slowly change by the end of October to two milk, one sweetener (64 cal, 2g fat). But for now my goal is for one cream, one milk and a sweetener (104 cal, 7g fat). Small steps make big changes, and this is gunna be one of them!

Can't wait to begin this challenge, best of luck to all!

-Wendy

Is it too late for another member? I love your plan and think this could really help me step up my workouts! I currently do 45 minutes of cardio 3-4 days a week but I definitely need to add weight lifting!

Name: Katelyn

Age: 23

Height: 6' 0"

Weight: 196

Goal: 170

Plan:  My plan is to record my food every day. I'm going to get in at least 5 servings of vegetables and two servings of fruit every day. I'm going to increase my cardio to 5 days a week and add in 30 minutes of weight lifting 3 days a week. Cut down on eating out and focus on eating cleaner.

If there isn't room, I wish you all the very best of luck on your challenge!

Is there room for one more person?

Name: Cristina

Age: 27

Height: 5' 2"

Weight: 127.4 lbs/57.8 kg as of Sept 6

Goal: 119 lbs / 54 kg

Plan: 1200-1500 cal mostly vegetarian; 500 cal burned /week from cardio (will be changed b/c i start aqua fitness next week); 2 sessions aqua fitness per week;

Welcome girls, Sunday is the last day, and then at mid-night I'm shuting her down.

RosyB and Cricket.................. WELCOME!

I hope this group gives you all the boost you need.

WORKING WENDY, You have a great daughter... She is going to take care of you.. I see she's loving and caring... Great daughter you have in here with us....
Great plan with the cup of joe too... I love it...

Jennison, Thanks for letting us know that's your mom.. That's so sweet. You know.. I push my mother to do her best, and she loves it. Now She laughs at me all the time telling me.. I'm gonna catch you.. LOL. I love my mom. She has been my rock since I started losing weight, and since she had the gastric bypass in 2003. My mom is the best... I know you feel the same about yours. My mom didn't want to have the gastric bypass until I promise her I would lose the weight. I've been working hard at it ever since.  Every time I fall- she picks me up and dust me off with one hell of a pep talk. Now I'm doing it for her.. :)

Let's do this girls.

Ladies!

We have 30 people in the group, and counting me... We are going to push and motivate eachother to the finish line, and this may be a start for most of us, but this is a life style change- Not a part time one. So we are here to cut out the part time drama on the weight loss.

Glad to have ya, and I guess we will see more. I believe I can handle a few more, can you all handle it. I just don't want to leave anyone out. I know I have to close the doors, but I hope keeping it open a little longer pays off for the newbies here..

Take care girls,

~Lynn

I'm excited for this group!  I need some serious motivation, especially on the working out front.  Eating usually isn't too much of an issue, but I'm SO lazy!!

Everyone ready for the big weigh-in tomorrow? :D

Kukua, I'm so happy that you are happy for this group. I'm still waiting on the other's to come, but I will be closing the doors down tonight at mid-nigh, and then off to bed I go. LOL...

I'm ready for the weigh'n, and I am also ready for the track in the morning. I have to take it easy. This hammie injury isn't going to keep me down.

Let's get ready to do this girls.

So it is Monday and I have my weigh-in.  I am not thrilled with it, but not being thrilled tends to make me work harder.  So without further delay, I am weighing in at 209 this week.

hey lynn thanks for saving my place....

Jada,

24yrs old.... 5'9"

SW: 191

CW:185

GW: 155

Weigh in this morning..... still at 185..... No weight lost this week.... boo!!!

Hi,
