New Year's Weight Loss Count Down... Starting September 2nd Ending December 30th...CLOSED!

Quote  |  Reply

Hello everyone, here is the Group Plan Layout.

I will be closing this after I get my first 25. I think we can get to know each other a lot better if we keep it small. It hasn't grown as big as I thought it would over night, but I am looking for more people to join.

So, 25 is the number of people I'm looking for.

As for weigh'ns. I would like to get that ball rolling as well.

Every Monday will be our weigh'n day. Starting Monday 8th.

I  also want us to share our plans for the month ahead.

Focus points will be giving monthly.

This month Focus points will be.

Water 60oz to 80oz a day.
2 Fruits per day. " To cut down on sugar cravings."
1 salad per day and Steamed Veggie. "We need veggies in our diet."
Chewing gum. To deal with those no no cravings. Just chew gum if you know you ate something just 10 mins ago. I always grab fruit- but gum does work.
Cardio every day, and resistance training twice a week.
And share your feelings when you feel you are going to jump the wagon. We need to share so we can help each other.

What is your one goal for the month? " No matter what you choose, work on that one goal for the month. It really pays off."

My one goal for the month is to get back into my cardio workout.

This is a start.

Hit the road happy, and let's make this happen.

( The rest of the story about this group is in motivation.)

144.8.... GO LYNN!!!!

Yella, are you up for weight training. It's a good for you. If not.. I understand, but when you are ready to do that. Look at this link, and I have a few other links, and I am sure you seen it all over CC, but it want hurt to add a small weight training program into your workout, if you haven't already.

A girl on this sight told me about this sight, and I do like the information I saw on here.

Here's another link with a free book about abs.

I spin at home a few times a week, and I love it. It's something I do enjoy. I'm going to hunt around on line for a real stair climb machine for my home. That's what I am going to do with my income taxes. Every year I add a new piece to my home gym. Do you have any exercise equipment at home?

Yah i have a weight training routine..... and i try new weights every other week or so. I lift about twice a week, or so.

I will have to check out the website though!

That's good! I've need weight training hard for the past few months. Really since March, and it has helped me break weight. Holding on weight numbers. I push a little harder every week, and if I don't I feel like I am cheating myself. I guess it's all about demand, and controlling that demand. I must work harder to get to where I need to be. It's not just about weight loss, but it's all about self control, and when you find that self control.. That power that comes with weight training is something that you can't explain. I can't explain. I guess, I can't explain it because, it's something a man use to own. Now I own a part of that world. So weight training is a good release of stress.

Keep up the good work Yella.

Okay! I must be gaining muscle mass, because I am not owning the weight I got a few days a go of 144.8- I'm 2 pound up from that day, and I am not going to stress it. I'm going to the gym and I am going to weigh myself in the morning. Not because I think it's my scales, but because.... If I am gaining muscle mass, then they can do a body fat test on me as well, and I can really get down to the bottom of this. This just don't make any sense at all. Oh Well.. I'm a big girl, and I'm not bitching about it. Well, yes I am. I just don't get the scales and weight sometimes.. If it was a trade out. It would be a even trade.

Oh well! I will get some kind of grip later on today.

1 week before thanksgivivng. One week, and I said. I wanted to be 145 before that week hits, and I am going to be 145. That's my goal, and I am sticking to it.

Hello ladies; back home; I hopped on the scale lol At 10 PM it showed 128 lbs so that's a bit - 4.6 lbs - up since 3 weeks ago. I'm curious abt my weight tomorrow morning though.

Glad you are back. I'm not posting your weight until monday. I hope it's less. So how was it! Is hubby home too.

Ok , it's down already heh :)

The trip was horrible; it was really cold until abt 3 hrs from home when they moved us to another part of the train where it was heated.

We came back together. He swore he isn't going on any other business trip again. It's too much of a pain in the behind.

He's got the weekend off but we both work starting on Mon. But we are home. So it's totally different :)

ps: uploaded 2 photos to my gallery

The trip was horrible! Why! What was so bad about it? You was with your hubby. I guess it would be a horrible trip, if he was working 12 hours all the time.

Well, I'm glad you are back. Nice pics.. You both look happy and in love.

See you on Monday, if not before then.

We were not in our comfortable place; yes, we were together and we both worked 8-9 hrs at most a day. he had only cpl days off though

Well, you are home now and that's what counts the most.

exactly; it didn't take us long to realize that we love our town and our home.

it's that security feeling which no hotel , no matter how nice it is, could ever give you. the room and service were nice; the city was horrible; the dialect impossible to understand...so yeah , putting everything together, we are glad it's over.

now we have time to relax for my birthday (coming up in 2 weeks) and then the holidays :)

Yeah! I know what you mean. It's no place really like home. I like to travel when the same on bi-ways and hi-ways get boring to me. I'm thinking about a trip to NYC. I guess around the first of the year. Just for a weekend. I have a few people up there I would like to see, and my hubby 2 be, would love to go see his cousin Ra'fee. I hope we get to make the trip. He told me I need to start looking into some flights so we can pick the best tickets for the both of us. The kids aren't going.. They will be here with one of their Grand parents. We been planning a weekend of shopping for a while. That's my Goal treat from him.. A shopping spree in NYC. I hope it falls into place.

I love to travel; our vacations in Budapest and Vienna were AMAZING! But being *sent* to a place you don't like and don't want to be in...well, you get the feeling!:)

Oh I totally envy you! A shopping spree in NYC would be a dream!

Next year we are looking into going to Portland, OR (where  the company i work for is based).

Yeah! I started to shop on line, and found some great stores in Brooklyn. I've been wanting to get out there ever since the first 50lbs. I hope nothing get's in my way. I think I may by my wedding dress up there. To see snow ( lots of it) That's going to be the best part of the trip.

Mon Nov 17: 127.2 lbs / that's Sat's weigh in. We rushed to get hubby's video card to service and i totally forgot abt the scale. Next weigh in will be on Sat anyawy b/c TOM is due tomorrow so I stay away from the scale for sure.

ps: trying to make the translation to maintaining my weight, at least until the holidays are over

Yeah! I'm filling the bloat coming on too. TOM is due on wed. for me.

Monday weigh n. Okay! Since I am bloated already... I blame my 147.8 on the beginning stage of TOM. I ate really good all weekend long. It didn't make any since at all for the weight gain, but it did happen. I just have to keep on fighting to lose the weight.

I guess I am going to try to maintain this weight until after thanksgiving. Hopefully I will lose a pound while doing it.

daizymae's journal from yesterday discussed article about fluid retention and exercise. A hard weight training workout can cause additional fluid retention as body tries to balance the muscle repair work etc.

Name: Bob
Age: 62
Starting Weight: 166.4 9/2/2008
Goal Weight: 154
Current Weight: 163.6 (down .2 from last week)
Total Weight Loss: 2.8

Still hovering around the 163 #. Could be at set point or just converting fat to muscle. I'll take 163 if I lose the remaining belly fat. A few ladies at congregation Sat said I was looking thinner. I said thank you but know that I have been around same weight for 3 months. E said the same yesterday and in fact I'm seeing more room in the new pants/clothing that have been purchased the last couple of months. One reason I'm not replacing entire closet. I could get down to 32 from 34. Bought new jeans yesterday, 34's, and they were loose. One more than the other, so I might be a 33 even w/o having lost any additional weight.

Had a good week with training plan. Ran >19 mi, and had a great 5.6 mi run yesterday morning. Finished 5 mi felt strong enough to easily add .6 mi w/o strain or injury. Gives me confidence that I can do the 10k in the Cowtown Hyper-Marathon on 2/28/2009. Final decision can wait until Jan 09. Would be heart attack to 10k in 11 months following H.A. to 5k in 7 months!

This weeks plan: Mon/Fri: cross; Tue/Thur/Sat 3.5mi run; Wed 6x400;Sat 4+mi run;  Sun 6+mi run = 20+mi

Goals for the month of Nov:

  • Stick to my eating plan with min deficit of 500 cal/day - start losing weight again
  • Execute new training program in prep for 12/7 5K
  • Manage eating at Thanksgiving - will be at Son's for whole week.

Remember: We can do this!
Never give up!, Never look back!, Can do!

Hello, All.  I am just stopping by to let you all know that I haven't forgotten about today's weigh-in.  However, I didn't get the chance to get on the scale this morning so I will let you all know tomorrow.  Unfortunately, I am expecting a gain.

Karabsbg, Just take your time. We are all going to still be in the same place..I wanna run my scale over. What about you?
