New 10-15 pound Weight Loss Group
I had the best group last year. We emailed each other with our food plan for the next day, talked about events that might cause a problem and how we could make it easier to get threw, and things going on in our lives. We have become very close and all had good success.
We made it to our goals and now I want to go down 10 more pounds and then learn how to maintain that weight. Now I need a new group to keep me accountable and make weight loss more enjoyable.
I'm 5'6" and 146 pounds. I am going on vacation on March 26th and would like to be at goal.
As a rule of thumb, I don't weigh in daily because I find that it leads to more obsessive tendancies with eating for me. Our weight can fluctuate up to 5lbs from morning to evening so weight loss or gain should really be looked at as a trend instead of actual daily pinpoints.
Lots of things can influence your weight from day to day including your hydration levels, time of day, water retention (may be a result of salty foods), food intake, stress, etc. When I saw that I lost 4 lbs I attributed a lot of it to water weight because I know the foods I was eating in the past week were much lower in sodium than what I had been eating over the holidays. It takes a bit longer to see fat loss, but this is probably a more accurate representation of true weight loss.
Yeah thats kind of what I figured, I think I would actually be worried if I had really lost 5lbs in four days! I just didn't know it could flunctuate quite that much, I thought it was more like a pound or two.

Well, I was so excited to be at 131 last week, but was much LESS excited to see that I was 133.5 this week! Boo!
Not really sure what happened because I have been staying in the 1400 range all week and I worked out 3 times last week. I did go to the bar for football on Sunday (go Eagles!!!) and had some food (no drinks) so my sodium may be up. It's ok though. I'm sticking to my plan and it will pay off eventually :-)

Hey I am doing alright. been sick with a sinus infection for a week now, sucks!
But I didn't gain.
I am at 129 as of Monday.
Anyone have any sinus infection cures, I am on antibiotics not working very well and drinknig apple cider vinegar with honey in tea *YUCK&*
How is everyone else doing? How is your New Year treating you? Found any new strategies or products that have aided in your weight loss journey?
I'm sorry, I don't know any sinus infection cures, beside antibiotics. Maybe you need to go back and get a strong prescription.
I have been out of control with my eating. And it shows. I am wearing my pair of jeans that I had to wear a belt to keep them up but I no longer need the belt ![]()
I don't know what my problem is. Things have been more stressful than I have ever had it before in my life... but with my history I can't blame the weight gain on this. You should see my weight gain graph, it looks hideous!!!! I get very frustrated with myself. I feel terrible with the weight gain. I am tired all the time. If I have any spare time, I just want to crawl into bed and bury myself under the covers and stay there.Hoping some of this is due to TOM, so I know that it will end soon. I am so stressed that I don't even enjoying the things I use to enjoy, such as reading, scrapbooking, anything that takes thought. I am so glad I have you guys to express myself to. I will check back soon.
Ok, I am back! I sat down on Sunday night and re-read all my cheat sheets on the YOU diet. Then I mapped out my strategy for the week. I pin-pointed what was getting in my way for success, and wrote out a strategy. So far things are going pretty well. I feel like I am going in the right direction. My husband is hating it but I pretty much cleared the house of "temptation". He just got back from a trip to the cupboard empty handed. I have been making healthy family meals. Hopefully all of us, minus the youngest loses some weight in the new year! We are going to start family walks just as soon as the weather warms up just a bit. Anyway, I hope to talk to you soon.

I'm down 7 pounds since last Friday (but that was the 1st day of TOM, so 5 lbs. of that is for sure water weight.) It really helped reading over my old notes and write out a plan for the week. I'm just glad that the scale is going in the right direction! Tomorrow night will be harder since we are going to a surprise party.

I am down 8 pounds now but have the flu today so I can't keep anything down. I am really scared this will mess up my metabolism just when things are starting to go my way... any advice?
Hi Chatty! I'm right there with you. This is the first year I didn't get a flu shot and GUESS WHAT?????
Naturally I got it! I have been trying really hard to get those holiday lbs off and now I feel so bad I can't even care! Maybe we will get better soon and all will be well again!

I don't usually get sick. Everyone in my house usually gets it and I take care of everyone but it usually misses me. This time I am the only one who got it (so far...knock on wood).
I am mad because I had finally got on eating healthy and exercising. Now I am sure that this is going to mess up my metabolism! I haven't been able to keep anything down since Thursday night. Everything is ache on my body, even my eyeballs! I can't sleep because of it! I am hoping that it is just a 24 hour thing and I am getting to the end of it!
I am down 12 pounds since the 16th but some of this will come back after the flu. I have been using the Elliptical. I also order a new workout video (from the infomercial with Dancing with the Stars judges on it but I just got it so I haven't had a chance to use it. I am trying to pay less attention to the scale and I am trying to focus more on firming and toning my body! Thought it would be a good goal with Spring and Summer just around the corner.
I was happy to see the Miss America contest this year. I only saw it when it was down to 16 ladies. They were all very athletic in build. I have never seen one, that set such a good role model for young girls!
I am lonely. I never am home alone with a husband and two kids... so being home sick really stinks. No one to hang out with! And you can't have a friend come over because nobody in there right mind would want to be around me!

The sinus infection was gone a week ago, went to a ENT specialist. I have a deviated septum (meaning I will be getting surgery) thank goodness. can't wait to deal with this problem.
Feb 1st I officially will start my plan to eat healthy. I am not calling it a diet.
I don't work out anymore because I can't afford to join the gym and I have no room in my new apartment to work out. Actually technically I do for yoga...but no drive at the moment.
I did a hot yoga class yesterday and it's been 2-3 months since I did it and I was wiped after only a few postures. So I am going to try going once a week to get myself back in the frame of mind I was last year, which was WOO WORKING OUT! I used to enjoy it, now it just is painful lol.

We are exactly the same height and weight. That is where I would like to be, too. I have been down to 135 this year but haven't made it past there. This will be the year!

Lisseth83- I am so sorry about your sinus infection! They are miserable!!!! I don't know much about the surgery but if it helps you it will be soooo worth it.
I am feeling so much better but still not up to 100%. Eating is still difficult. Everything seems to upset my stomach, but at least the achiness has stopped. That made it impossible to sleep, hurt my bones to lay down.
I am going to be fabulous by Monday and going to get back on my exercise plan. I am not going to give up now that I finally got back on track.
I hope that everyone will come back and join us! I miss them. Plus anyone is welcome to join on in!! I think we are a great group of women.

I tried to start my healthy eating today. Today was supposed to be the day and at work one of my co-workers made luinch and brough a bag of chips (my downfall) :(

So I weighed in at the gym last night and I'm STILL 133.5. GRRRR.
However, I used my new heartrate monitor for the 1st time in my "boot camp" type class and I urned 567 cals in an hour! That's awesome! This is a class where I usually estimate that I burn 400 cals. I love my new HRM!

SO I tried starting again but it's been difficult, since at work we have lunch weeks, and today the lunch wasn't the healthiest oh well.
I did start working out in my apartment, whcih is kind of small and it was kind of hard but manageable. Hopefully the people downstairs won't complain :)
I weighed myself today at 132.4 Last year this time I was around 140. So I hope I can get back on track with working out, since my eating habits I haven't had so much self control over.

Working out at home can be fun! Do you have cable? We have an excercise channel that lets you pick various workouts ... it's cool. And with the weather getting warmer, you will start to be able to do more things outside too :-)
You are way down from where you were at this time last year! Do you have a goal in mind to work towards?I am going to Vegas at the end of March (the 19th -23rd) so my goal is to lose 5-6 lbs. I have had a great time with working out so far this week and getting a heart rate monitor has really helped me too.

Yah I used to work out at home at my parents place when I had more room. My room is limited now and I wish I was at a gym. Sadly, I do not have cable :(
And as for the weather it was warm and now its getting cold again. Last year it snowed until April so hopefully end of March whether will get warmer and snow will melt and I can start walking around my block.
Yah I am, only because I wouldn't let myself get back up to where I was last year. Right now my goal is 125. I have a heart rate monitor which needs batteries. I don't have the drive to do it again this time around :( it sucks. At work I have trouble not eating everything in sight. I think it's just the winter blahs, stress and the economy lol. I used to love working out. Now I live above people and worry about noise. ah well.
Thanks. I got started on my Turbo Jam again just need to kick my butt into gear. I work a lot so I never have time to work out.
