New 10-15 pound Weight Loss Group
I had the best group last year. We emailed each other with our food plan for the next day, talked about events that might cause a problem and how we could make it easier to get threw, and things going on in our lives. We have become very close and all had good success.
We made it to our goals and now I want to go down 10 more pounds and then learn how to maintain that weight. Now I need a new group to keep me accountable and make weight loss more enjoyable.
I'm 5'6" and 146 pounds. I am going on vacation on March 26th and would like to be at goal.
Hey,
How is everyone doing?
I weighed myself this morning and was 2.4 pounds lighter. I still need to work out more and can't wait for the weather to get warm and to become more walkable for me outside (I have asthma when its too cold outside)
I have 5 pounds to lose now, but really need to tone up more.
Hey there,
2.4lbs is GREAT! I actually took a bit of a hiatus from weighing because I only weigh at the gym and I couldn't make it to the gym for a week, but I was there yesterday and I lost 2lbs :-)
I'm focusing on getting more exercise into my week because I don't think I will ever really lose just but cutting cals. So far this week I went on a 4.5 hour hike, took a pilates class, and went running this morning. My knee has been bothering me since the hike, which is annoying because I want to work out!
I've been keeping at 1400/day plus eating back whatever I burn (SO much easier with my new HRM). I'm going out to dinner tonight, so I hope I can maintain my good habits!
How's everyone else doing??
Thanks :)
2 lbs awesome! Sadly I never have time to work out, with full time work and 2 classes part time I am swamped, now I know not to do 2 classes on top of full time work and part time work. ARG!
I am also trying to keep at 1400 cals a day only cause I can't see myself ever doing 1200 a day. I need new batteries for my hrm it sucks they are so expensive.
So good to hear you are doing well hope everyone else is doing well.
I'm excited! I've lost 10lbs so far! My current weight is 140lbs. :) I keep telling myself to not give up, and to keep going through with my exercise program and resisting all that yummy chocolate that I crave each day. It's actually paid off and now I've added another 10lbs to my weight loss goal, so I'm hoping to hit 120 by May! Good luck to everyone!
Iris! That's amazing! What is your meal plan like? I'm always interested in knowing how other have been so sucessful!
Thank you!![]()
Well, honestly, I don't eat breakfast, because it makes me nauseous, but for lunch I eat a sandwich or a bowl of soup, with 100 calorie snacks, whatever I choose for the day, (ex: sun chips, cookies etc. something to make me happy.). LOL! I have thrown a few frozen meals here and there as well. Mostly under 500 calories, but enough to stuff me till dinner.
For dinner I've been eating a choice of carrots, corn and green beans along with a turkey sausage and wheat tortillas. I also, for a desert and added nutrition, have been eating a bowl of cereal. I'm measuring the cereal out into a measuring cup, as well as the milk, I think it's skim milk, but I can't tell you for sure. I've also been eating Watermelon for desert to switch it up. Sometimes I treat myself to higher calorie meals, like a Chipotle Bowl with Carnitas, for dinner every once in a while.
Honestly, I've been trying to eat all the healthy low calorie foods that I can find. I count my calories daily and I try to keep myself with a 1000 calorie deficit. I exercise each day burning anywhere from 500-1000 calories. I do the elliptical and weights as well as many different ab exercises.
I do not deprive myself of anything, though I find that with the weight loss I feel great and do not crave the bad things anymore. I actually crave fruit and vegetables more than anything. Also, I am wearing Invisalign Rraces right now so snacking is out of the question for me.
One more note. The biggest thing I have learned is that it's not smart at all to eat less than 1200 calories. I couldn't lose a lb a few weeks back because I wasn't eating enough. Now that I am, I'm melting away. LOL!
Hi all. I have been back on the exercise full force this week. I walk/ran, did the Elliptical, and other weight lifting routines. I have been doing well with the eating, except for today :(
As of this morning, I am down 4 lbs. I just need to keep this up. Iknow it will pay off.
I am so happy to see that you guys are having success, too! Yeah us!! It took me a long time to get back on track. Finally, it has fallen in place. I am glad to be back.
Noelle
I have been eating well, and exercising on the Elliptical four or five days a week plus I do some weight resistant exercises. Last week my muscles hurt so bad just from squats, lunges, and push ups... who needs to go to the gym for a workout!
I am proud of myself but haven't had as much success with the scale. It is moving slowly. But I know I it will go down and I will continue my routine.
How is everyone else doing? Have you found anything that is really working? I am looking for new recipes using ground turkey if anyone has come across any and would want to share that would be great.
Hey,
Well I have been not that good. I haven't been paying attention to my diet again. It's all my mom's fault lol. My dad has his 60th bday and my mom got a sushi tray, well I love sushi and I can eat tons! and I did.
So since my sodium level must have been pretty high my scale said 132.2
today, up 2.2 pds.
Plus my TOM is coming up so I am not listening to my scale.
March 20th is fast approaching (official day of Spring) I think once the weather starts to warm up (which I know I Have said every single message, just keep reminding myself) I will definitly be taking walks around my neighbourhood, not a very scenic area but oh well.
I just recently started dating someone so I started not to care about what I was eating, but I don't want to get that dreaded boyfriend fat :P
Hope everyone else is doing well.
I was doing awesome. I was doing athe Elliptical 5 nights a week plus exercises (lunges, push-ups, jumping rope, etc) for two weeks. But the scale didn't budge. Then I caught a terrible cold a couple of days ago... and I unfortunately started an eating spree of junk. I am afraid to get on the scale! I still feel terrible from my cold and have no motivation to get things back on track.
I've been wanting to get back on track so badly. And have had no motivation.
My schedule is all over the place (working lots and school work) so my eating is spaced out all over the place. No time to work out...And it snowed again today :(
I am waiting for spring to come and then I think I am going to kick it into high gear. Because I have been eating crap lately when I have no time to eat and it sucks.
And oddly enough when I started smoking again :( I gained a bunch of weight.
I think Iam going to keep a written journal with my online journal so I don't slip when I am not around the net.
Hi Gals!
Lisseth -- sorry that you have not been feeling the motivation lately. I think it's a good idea to keep a written food journal with you when you are on the go. Just get a cute little notebook and pencil (pen?) to write everything down in. Even if you don't end up logging it all in at the end of the day, just knowing you need to write things down will likely have you make better food choices.
I am at a bit of a standstill too and am trying to stay motivated. I was travelling for most of the month and just got home last Wednesday. I did go to the gym twice last week (trying to fight off a cold) and controlled the drinking and eating this weekend I think. The cold caught up with me and I feel AWFUL today so I may just make some chicken soup for dinner! It's TTOM too so I'm scared to weigh in ... I feel your pain chattynoel!
Here's to an early arrival of spring -- I think we all need it!
A
I am pretty much over my cold. Although I still get a sore throat usually just before bed and wake up with it. I think my body is more ran down late at night.
I do feel well enough today to start my eating and working out program again. I had a good day and feel confident that I will do well. I, too, am just about to start my TOM so the scale will spike up sometime this week. So I will have to try hard to not focus on the scale so much this week.
I definately need to get this added weight off before Spring or I won't be able to wear my summer clothes and I do not have money to be buying new ones!!! Luckly we just had a new snow storm today to push Spring further away... I can still stay safely in my oversized sweatshirts for now.
I hear ya on getting the added weight off by spring/summer. All my summer clothing won't fit me and I can't afford new clothing, lol.
We are getting a snow storm too supposedly here in Toronto, although with 10 degrees I doubt it.
Has this winter been harder for everyone? Last winter I found it was so easy but then again I was more able to control what I eat, was able to afford a gym and still lived with the folks. I am sure the economy doesn't help anything. :(
Those of us who went off the wagon a bit we will get back on track :) for me this is a second time around and I think after a second time trying I won't want to have a third. *I hope*
Yes, this winter was harder for me than last. Last winter I was at goal. This winter I am up twenty pounds. I do think it was related to stress. This has been the second most stressful year of my life (2008) and I hope one that I will never have to live through again. Although I am not sure that 2009 is looking much better!
Although I am happy to report that I finally made a Doctors appointment for some long untreated health issues and the appointment is finally this week. Although nothing is ever simple... it will probably take several appointments and test results to figure out what needs to be done. But I am hopeful.
One a plus note, I have been doing great this week and so far it has been easy. Which is very helpful for getting started back on track.
How is everyone doing?
No updates in here for awhile, and I find I barely use this site. I am upset with myself. Had McDonalsd for breakfast :( Woke up late for work.
Not working out either. I need some kind of push to be healthy again and not eat crap.
Plus I've been having back issues and can't walk too much :(
Hi Ladies! Just thought I would pop in and say hello! I see its been awhile for everybody! I am still losing and gaining the same 5 lbs!
I can't seem to get myself really back on track these days! Summer is here and shorts and bathing suit time is near....Don't know but i think that may be my reason to RESTART my healthy eating!
Hope you all are doing well! Have a good weekend!

Hey Noel and other girls! I was a member of this group a while ago and just lost track of you all when I had to redo my account on cc! I used to be "lifeinkcals"... if you go back to page like 23 on this post you will see postings from me with my old profile.
Anyhoo, I just came across a posting from Noel today and was able to find this group again. How is everyone doing?
Hi everyone! It is great hearing from everyone again.
I am embarrassed to state where I am at. I have gained 20 lbs. since September. Although I got back on track three or four weeks ago... it hasn't made any difference with the scale. We have been working out hard at the gym and have been eating healthy meals. I really think my metabolism has been shot since September. But I will not give up. I can do this. With the exercise and eating healthy, the weight will come off or at least it will look more toned!
We can do this! I am so excited to see the support group coming back together, just in time to get back on track for summer.
Noelle
Yah I am the same, pretty close to what I was when I joined this site :(
With the summer I hope to get back on track. But it's been the same with my metabolism, which seems to have slowed down.
