New 10-15 pound Weight Loss Group

Quote  |  Reply
Just looking for a group of people that want to lose 10 to 15 pounds by March 26th.

I had the best group last year.  We emailed each other with our food plan for the next day, talked about events that might cause a problem and how we could make it easier to get threw, and things going on in our lives.  We have become very close and all had good success.

We made it to our goals and now I want to go down 10 more pounds and then learn how to maintain that weight. Now I need a new group to keep me accountable and make weight loss more enjoyable.

I'm 5'6" and 146 pounds.  I am going on vacation on March 26th and would like to be at goal.

Hi,

I'd like to join.  I've lost 15 pounds in the last two months and I've got 15 more to go to be back to my pre-baby (pre, meaning before both kids - I've got a 6-year-old & a 19 month old) weight.  I'm at 164 today (I'm 5'8").

I started this diet at Jenny Craig & I'm still weighing in there weekly, but doing my own food now and I have been for the past week.  Jenny Craig was a good starting place for this diet, but I'm loving this web site for tracking my own calories now that I'm back on "real" food.

My biggest diet issue seems to be that I am very much all or none.  Right now, I'm all, so it's pretty easy.  However, I know that "none" could be right around the corner.  It's a little overwhelming trying to cook for the family while keeping my own meals low in calories & fat.  Many days I just give in & make whatever & eat a Lean Cuisine & a big salad.

On Jenny, I was put on a 1,200 calorie weight loss program.  I followed it pretty strictly, but now that I'm adding up calories on my own, I see that I've been consuming closer to 1,400 calories per day, once I factor in all of the vegetables, salad dressings, etc.  I seem able to drop weight pretty consistently on this total, though, so I'm ok with it.

Anyhow, I'd like the support of being part of a group for this next weight loss phase.  Good luck to all!

Hi everyone,

Its almost bedtime for me so I'll make this short and read up more about all of you tomorrow.

I would love to join this group! I don't know if I can lose 10 lbs by March 26th - ( have been stuck at current weight for almost 6 months ) but I definitely am going to try and am glad I saw this post! *long sentence*

I am 5' 4" and 135 lbs (as per this morning's measurement). My real (non-water retentive) weight must be around 133 and my goal weight is 120. I would love to lose these last 15 lbs and would like to work toward that goal.

I used to be 153 lbs in February last year (hard to believe now!) and I have come this far - so I hope I have it in me to go further!

Best of luck to everyone and I hope to hear from all of you regularly!

missmichelle (and others)

I swear, I don't lose weight like 'normal people'.  I ride up and down the scale, and yet, everytime I seem to gain a few, I find that I've lost inches.  So my advice, don't worry too much about the weight.  Measure your arms, bust, waist and hips and watch the inches disappear.

I'm also small on top but heavy in the rear and thighs...I heard that you can't focus exercise on particular trouble spots...because the weight will come off from all over.  Best thing (I've heard) is tone, tone, tone!

Hang in there!

Added: BTW, I always supplement Lean Cuisines by adding extra veggies...while I really like them, they're not that filling.  My fave though is the Weight Watchers bean, rice and cheese thing (can't remember the name of the dish)...talk about filling!

I would like to join.
To be honest, I haven't weighed myself in 3 years because I don't care about the number. I just care about what size clothes I am. I am 5'8, athletic, and know I will never be 120 pounds.

This summer I was working 2 jobs, which was 12 hours of work a day. Plus it took me an hour and a half to get home. Rode my bike everywhere and walked everywhere. I think I lost about 20 pounds. I was fitting into a size four pant. Unfortunatly I got an office job, & winter came. So sitting on my butt all day, plus no exercise and all those office treats means none of my size 4 pants fit anymore. I can do the pants up, but I have a very unattrative bulge, and should really be wearing a size or two up.

So I will know just by the fit of my pants how much weight I will be losing doing this :)

I don't know what it is called, but there is actually a product you can buy at REI that stops the chaffing.  The weight we want off the most always seems to be the very last place we lose it.  Mine is the darn muffin top and "baby has back".  Between the extra weight I have carried and having two pregnancies, I realize I will never have one of those perfect bodies... I just want to make the best out of what I have!

i want join this group also. i'm 29 and 151 lbs, and obsessed with making it to the 140's. my goal was 135, but that all depends on what i see when i finally reach that point. but when i reach to atleast 149, i'll be celebrating that little milestone!!Cool. the 150's love me soo much, they won't let me go!!!! end of march with 10-15 lbs sounds reasonable and exactly what i need. then it gives me more time to tone before summer and practice maintaining. see ya'll.

I would like to joint too, I hope that's okay. I figure as long as I hop in before the first weigh in.

I am 25, 5'4 or 5'5 and I weigh approx 130 (I have not weighed myself in a few days, big accomplishment for me, I love the scale!)

I actually had already set this goal for myself! I am going to the east coast to visit family at the end of march and I would love to be 10lb's closer to my goal of 115. I was 117 last year after having my son and then after I went back to work I gained it all back :(. So I know I can do it.

Good luck to everyone! Weigh in on Monday??

Tears and Shrunksome,

You were talking about getting that full sensation.  A bit of trivia you might find interesting- In Japan there is a practice called Hiro Hachibu (my phonetic spelling) It means 80% full.  the Japanese do not eat untill they get that full feeling. They stop when they are still a bit hungry. That is a western phenomenon.
Well, I had a great week but a crappy weekend.  I will be very scared to see the scale on Monday.  I refuse to weight before then.  This is the weekend before my TOM and I get out of control.

I had DeLite pizza on Friday night but I think I ate 4 pieces.  I also had a glass of wine, Honey Teddy Grahams, and graham crackers.

Then we went to a movie on Saturday (I am such a sucker for popcorn), anyway I'm not sure but I think I ate almost half a large popcorn by myself.  My only saving grace is that I don't like butter on it.  :(
samiaz,
I know exactly what you mean about the 150s, they cling to me and never leave. I was finally able to get into the 140s, but it was definitely hard. In 2007, I spent half of the year fluctuating between 155-156

Yay, down another pound!  I technically hit 115 this morning but I put 116 as my new weight because I was severely dehydrated when I weighed myself-- the cat keeps sneaking in and sleeping on my pillow, and I'm allergic to her, so I breathe through my mouth and wake up so thirsty!

I've been pretty good so far, went to the gym for 85 minutes today and actually had fun, probably because I went later and not at 630 in the morning.  I've been eating a lot of junk lately but staying around the 1200 mark, so all is well.

The only bump-- I took my measurements today and did out my body fat percentage-- 27.8% Surprised  That's 32 pounds of body fat!  No wonder I jiggle!  As soon as I get some of this fat off, I'm going to have to work wicked hard at turning the rest of it to muscle.  I'm appalled to think what it was back in December before I started dieting.  Every pound I lost must have been sheer fat, though I don't know where from, I don't look and slimmer.

Count me in. Just shaving off vanity weight. I want to be 100 to 102 by then. Just 10 pounds to go!

I've become a little careless with calorie counting the past three weeks and have fluctuated.

Today is a new day.

 SW: 140

*All last week I had been 138.5 - BUT this morning, I was 139. SIGH. *

For the first time since I started I gave myself a night out treat on Friday (nachos!!!) - and ended up walking around Manhattan for 1.5 hrs afterwards because I missed my train to NJ. So maybe it evened out? Who knows. Then I decided this was the weekend to bake - and boy did I have fun. I made some peanutbutter/raisin/mini chocolate chip/honey/oats/rice krispies balls - and they are delicious! Oh, and on top of that, 2 big heart shaped (iced & decorated) brownies for Valentine's Day. Of course, throughout the process, and taste testing- I am sure I didn't stay as on track as well as I would have liked.

My biggest struggle will be this week/weekend. I am leaving NY on Thursday, taking Friday off, and going to DC with my boyfriend until Sunday. I know we will do plenty of walking, but do I really have to eat salad every time we go out for a meal??!?

Does anyone have any advice? HELP Please! (Feel free to send a message instead of posting here)

2/4/08 = 216

2/11/08 = 214

I need to drink more water, I usually do drink a lot but this past week I have forgotten too. Also, I need to really get to work, and keep my mind busy and off of food ( I work from home)!

I want to join the group! I know i'm a little bit late, but I just noticed this forum. I am a freshman in college and let me tell you, with the dorm food they provide here, the freshman 15 is more like the freshman 20. I ate indiscriminately and in excess for first semester and went from being 5'4", 115 to 132!!! I feel so disgusting! not to mention my stupid clothes don't even fit. I feel horrible about myself.

I have been sticking under 1200 a day for a couple weeks now but since I never get myself to the gym *16 credits and depressed* I don't think i'm going to lost any weight.

Anyways, that's my story. I'm in though.. i'll try to weigh myself exactly today. I guess that will get me to work out.

Well considering I wasn't gaining weight when I started CC+ and since joining (a week and a half ago) I haven't actually changed my eating habits I'll look at this as a sign that my internal calorie counter is pretty good. I know that if I stick to what I do 'normally' I shouldn't gain weight. Now the challenge is how to tweak things so as to lose a few pounds... I think the obviously plan would be get my butt to the gym more! 1-2 times a week needs to be 3-4 times a week.

Starting Weight: 194

Current Weight: 191

Goal by March 31: 180

Goal Weight: 135

I was actually down to 189.8 on Friday, but didn't do so well over the weekend. I guess 3 lbs in a week is still pretty good though!

Hey, eleanor, want to be buddies?  I am also a college freshman and am looking to lose 10-15 pounds (I'm at 125) before summer break ;]

My ultimate goal is to be less obsessive yet still be more healthy.  Also, to drink enough water every day and meet 120-130% calcium goal every day.

Original Post by carabo:

CW : 131 (down 2 lbs this week !!)

Mini Goal Wt. : 130 (Valentine's Day)

Next mini GW : 125 (by March 26th)

ULTIMATE GW : 120 ( ? Laughing )

What I think worked for me this week : Strict caloric counting and noting down deficits; lots of water; regular workouts (even if for small periods at a time); hiking on both days of the weekend.

And yes,

Congratulations Missmichelle, Funkymunky0016, kelly 27 and c-weed..!

FHSTKE, eleanor, just_ em : you can do it!

eleanor : don't let initial hiccups get to you. It will take time to see a change. Stay at your caloric counts and try to move around more even if you arent getting time to go to the gym.

funkymunky - your trip sounds like so much fun! I don't have any specific advice : but what I'd do would most probably be something simple like eating any meal I want - but eating only half of it (or something like that - to encourage portion control.) And of course- walking wherever I can! Wish you a fun vacation!
