My new weight loss plan. Opinions?
Hey Everybody! My name is Hailey, and today is my first day to a new life and a new begining. For a few years now, I have been severely overweight, but I'm tired of it! This summer, I have come up with a new weight loss plan, and I need opinions on it from people like you!
Next year I'm going into grade eight. (Yes, I know, I'm only 13) Before I go into high school, I want to look my best, and feel great. My current weight is 203-205 lbs, and I want to loose about 90lbs.
This summer, I plan to do 55 minutes of cardio every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. On Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, I'm going to work out for about 15 minutes on my 'Gazelle'. Along with that excersize, I plan to take the herbal Magic diet pills, to help me loose the weight. (I've already started the plan today)
In general, I eat very healthy foods. In the morning, I ususaly have a Silhouette yogurt with some granola. If not yogurt, I have a banana, nutrigrain bar or apple. For lunch, a meat and cheese sandwich, grapes and water. For diner, my mom pure's a bunch of veggies like pumpkin, collieflower, spinach, tomatos and carrot's together, and she put's it on pasta. Or, we have chicken, apple and some other sort of pasta. I only drink water and milk.
By the end of the summer, based on my food, pills and excersize plan, how much weight will I loose? My goal weight is 116lbs, and the calorie count website says I can get to that goal by Febaury 26th.
Thank you!
First of all, congratulations on taking steps to live a healthier life! But please, don't ruin that goal by taking diet pills. You don't need them. I don't know what's in them, but if they do have anything in them that actually helps with weight loss, they're very unlikely to be healthy for anyone to take, let alone a 13 year old girl who is still growing.
How many calories are you planning to eat each day? Make sure that you eat no less than 1500 and you probably need more like 2000 calories a day. Make sure you're eating enough protein and healthy fats like olive oil, nuts or avacado, and plenty of fruits, vegetables, and lowfat dairy products (you need to make sure you're getting enough calcium). Try to eat whole grains like brown rice, whole wheat or rye bread instead of white, whole wheat pasta instead of regular.
I don't know what a Gazelle is, so I don't know what kind of excercise that is, but I'm glad that you're making excercise an important part of your weight loss journey because it will help speed up your metabolism instead of lowering it like dieting can.
Good luck!
Make sure that you are eating enough calories each day, also you need to give your muscles a break from exercise sometimes so maybe take Sunday off. I don't know if 116lbs would be a healthy weight for you and being that you are so young and probably still growing, you should perhaps work on the healthy lifestyle as opposed to weight loss goals.
Welcome Hailey, congratulations on your want to change.
Realistically 90 lbs loss in 2 months seems unhealthy, why don't you give your self some more time to achieve this goal. a healthy 1 lb a week is good. Also I think it would be best to talk to your doctor and they can guide you the best, you are still growing in very important ways.
Eating healthy is awsome! Keeping your callories within a "healthy" range for a teen is best and that depends on your body structure but a doc can advise you the best.
Exercises goes hand in hand with eating right and though you might feel you can do this everyday, you don't want to burn your self out the first week or 2 so remember to take it slow and steady and give your body a "rest" every few days. and again talk to your doctor first!
As for the diet pills I would toss them...even if you would see a few lbs lost at first most likely its water and as soon as you stop taking them you will not be happy. it is always best to do it without the help of any "unnatural" means. The adds seem so wonderful but I have yet to meet anyone that pills have worked for long term...again if you are convinced that they are "magic" pills then talk to your doctor about them (they can explain what is in them to give you a more realistic view of what your putting in your body).
And last but not least, yes high school can be scary and yes I am sure you want to look your best for your first year, but body size has little to do with your ability to make new friends. yes you can start your weight loss journey now and hit High school with a huge smile and a great outgoing attitude and keep eating healthy and getting fit. By the end of your freshman year you will have made a ton of friends and look and feel AWESOME!
I hope my info here helped you! Good luck :-)
1. I heard the herbal magic stuff is a big scam
2. you have the power and ability to lose the weight on your own, with exercise and sensible eating, which it sounds like you're doing
3. don't set yourself up for failure by taking pills and trying to lose 90 pounds in one summer. Nothing is as rewarding as success. Make yourself very successful by aiming for a more realistic weight loss goal.
4. Congrats! you will succeed!

Nonononon, I'm not trying to loose 90 lbs in a summer, I think you guys have read wrong. I'm tryinng to loose that much all together, and I'm starting this summer.
Aha, sorry for not making that clearer.
How often should you eat during the day?
It is neither necessary to eat every two hours nor to stop eating at 6:00 PM. As long as your calorie intake is less than your output... Read more
