Hello all,

My wife started about a year ago and I was around 255 (at 6'-2") at that time. We've been splitting meals and when I decided to start a few weeks ago I was down to 241 and didn't know I had lost any weight until I got on the scales. I've been walking an hour most days and I'm down to 228 after three weeks. On my eating I have never thought I was a big eater just a bad eater. I'm having a hard time eating the 1800 cals I'm suppose to eat as some days I'm only eating 1200 to 1400 cals but on weekends I blow it at least one day.

I'm just trying to eat healthy like a low carb yogurt and apple for breakfast, grilled chicken breast with salsa for lunch and we'll split a dinner and I'll have around 500 to 600 cals and I'll have a weight watchers ice cream bar at 130 cals. Am I alright on 1200 to 1400 cals a couple of days a week if I'm full?

Sorry, nobody answer this yet - the "new members" forum doesn't get as much activity as some of the others.

In a word, no. As a male, you need at least 1500 cals, and frankly, at your size, you'll need more than that.  The fact that you've lost 13lb in 3 weeks is proof of that - healthy weight loss is 1-2lb/week, not close to 4lb/week.

First, make sure you are counting accurately - do you weigh your food? And then ditch the "diet" foods, and have real food. 

In my opinion, a yogurt and an apple is not a breakfast. Start your day by eating more, and you'll be able to get more in over the course of the day.

Thanks I'm not weighing my food but do measure things that i can. Modtly I'm just trying to eat healthier foods. I feel full but will try harder to eat more.  Today I only had 900 cals. but worker through lunch.

I am concerned that you are eating so little. It does not matter if you are full or not. You need to consume a certain amount of calories a day or your body will go in to starvation mode and start storing fat and your metabolism will slow way down. You need to eat about every 2-3 hours.
