hey there!

my name is kellie, i'm [almost] 19, from australia! :)

i've been overweight as long as i can remember. when i was 15, i was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.  i've tried so many times to lose weight and keep it off, but it just hasn't worked.

i have depression and anxiety problems, most of which i believe is because of my weight. so here i am once again, trying to do something about it.

just wanted to say hi! :)

Howdy Kellie,

Im 32 from TX and have been overweight all my life as well. Since joining this site, I have lost about 13 lbs in 2 months. I hope this place helps you as much as it has started to help me.

Hi Kellie!

I'm from California, I'm 23, and I have also been overweight all my life... I have just recently starting using this site to count my calories, as well as incorporating more personal goals like exercise into my routine. I don't have diabetes (yet) but I do have something called PCOS which causes/includes insulin resistance, which is much like pre-diabetes. If you ever need a buddy, let me know! :)

Hi everyone!!

I am 46 years old and getting fatter all the time.  I want to lose 35lbs.  I don't like to work out, so I mainly try to really restrict my food intake.  Any help out there???

Dee

Dee, very few people really like to work out.  The problem with relying only on diet is that you lose both fat and muscle and the muscle is what gives us the ability to burn (metabolism).  Try to figure out some activity that will increase your burn rate.  A 30 minute walk, swimming, jumping jacks or biking.  There must be something out there that gets your heart thumping!!!
