Hey guys!

I am new to the forum here and just thought i would introduce myself.

I am 24, 5'3 (and a bit hehe) and want to lose around 10lbs! Not too much i know, just enough to make me feel better and more confident.

As well as losing the weight i want to tone up and just feel great! so any support would be fantastic xxx

Hello, welcome and good luck.  Toning up and losing just a few pounds can be tricky.  Work on getting the very best nutrition rather than relying on cutting the calories.  Eating 'better' is often more effective when you want to reshape things than just eating 'less'.

Welcome nr84! I am a newbie too. I'm looking to lose about 15-18 lbs myself. I'm not terribly overweight, but what a difference those last few pounds can make. I think you'll really enjoy this site. There are so many supportive people out there, I have found, in the short 3 days I have been a member. Good luck.

hey! im 21 and 5'4, got 14lbs to lost if you'd like some comapny :)

Hi Nr84, glad to have you!  This site is really useful, especially once you figure out how to reliably log your exercise, which always takes a little twiddling.  The boards here are great motivation, and we always like another voice in the mix!

Hi there & welcome - I have about 8 pounds to lose too.  I gained the weight after quitting smoking and yes as someone said above that it is really hard to lose the last bit of weight.  I was doing 1200 cals and tons of exercise (biking) for a couple weeks.  I lost 3 pounds then seem to have gained it back.  I feel as though I may as well eat whatever I want and sit on the couch.  That left me the same weight too.

I am going to try and up my calories a bit and see if that helps.  Also, no biking yesterday and today and we will see if that helps.  Maybe you just gotta give your body a break once in a while.  I am new to this whole thing too and am clueless about losing weight.  I had an egg sandwich this AM on whole wheat - no butter.  Usually I skip.  For lunch I will have salmon, salad & some raspberries.  I gotta move this weight!  It is soooo frustrating!

I will start lifting a little weight tonight!

Hi NR84,

I am also a newbie. I see we pretty much have the same challenge. I hope that we can be some inspiration. I have a very hard time of figuring out what I should have for breakfast and lunch. I feel that I have too many calories during those periods. My dinners are pretty light but I feel that the other two meals kick my booty! Anyone have any suggestions?

So you can log your weight -- which allows you to do the following:
  1. Plot your weight curve
  2. Analyze the trend of your weight (see under Recent in the figure above)
  3. Determine the projected target date (see under Overall in the figure above)
