two youngest ones are very hyper.

I am needing/wanting to lose 20-30 pounds.I am 5'3 and 163 pounds..I am a stress eater,always hungry and always stressed..joyous I know...

I have no energy at all...I know once I get into the grove I will feel so much better about "me"...but I need to get there first..

I am not a big veggie gal..like corn,greenbeans,lettuce,cucumbers,tomatoes and potatoes...I enjoy chicken and meats..

 

am I hopeless??

Welcome Kris! I am also a "newbie" (just joined last week) and I am in a similar situation.  I am 33 yrs old, one son (12 yrs old) and I am trying to drop about 60+ lbs by summer of 2010.  I had gained most of my weight in a few shorts month after going through surgery/chemo/treatments this past fall for cervical/uterine/ovarian cancer.

I, too, am a "emotional" eater - if I am depressed, sad, nervous or just bored I will eat anything that is not nailed down!  Sad, I know!  It's hard to stay motivated, but I have recently realized that if I want to feel better about myself, I need to take the bull by the horns and just do it!  I make myself get up and move around - even if I can only handle working out for 5 minutes - it's 5 minutes that I wasn't sitting on my butt eating something.  You must take each victory - no matter how slight - and turn it into something positive.

Again, I am right there with you!  Keep your chin up and remember, ALL of us here are trying to do the same thing and you are NOT alone in your journey!  Don't give up!
