Hello,
My name is Patty and I am new here. I was wondering if any of you have a 1200 calorie diet plan that you would like to share? I need to lose some major weight. My cholestrol is high, my blood pressure is up and borderline diabetic. I also need alot of motivation!!

I just started Monday & the people on this site are great!! I won't be much help with the 1200 diet thing (i'm eating the same amount & am new too!) except to say maybe to check out all the advice the ppl gave me in the Weight Loss Forum. The topic was posted by me & was "I don't know what I'm Doing!!" & they gave some great advice! Everyone is soo encouraging. :)

Hi Patty, Welcome to CC.
All I can suggest is veggies, low fat foods. I watch my sodium, no more then 2400 mgs a day.
There are lots of receipes here to look at.
Drink lots of water.
And if you have questions, just shoot them out. Everyone here is very helpful.

Welcome pattyb10!! I'm w/canadianchick! Plenty of veggies, low fat and non-fat foods! And mucho water!! This site will be very helpful!!

I'm abra...I suggest plenty of fruits and tasty salads. water/sparkling water. sandwiches with lean meats and low fat cheeses in them and wheat bread. snacks. lean cuisines or something like that but im not sure if they fill you up long probably do...but a homecooked meal would be better. Like chicken legs (skinless drumsticks) and brown rice (1 cup). I love oatmeal. Thats for your cholesterol honey. Everything I said above is pretty healthy. Take walks outside if you can or weather permits often. eat every 2-3 hours if you can.

welcome, good luck , I ususally eat about 1600 per day, losing slowly. stay away from precooked foods would be my main tip
Hi there :) I think everyone else has your 1200-cal advice spelled out pretty well. I'm kind of a lurker (I don't post often), but everyone here is very kind and helpful. The forums are great motivation :)

Eat foods that are high in fiber because this will fill you up quicker. I would suggest the same as everyone above. I replace my bread with whole wheat pita bread or la tortilla factory wraps/fajita wraps. These are very good for meal replacements and are low in calories and high in fiber. I would suggest fresh or frozen veggies because they are low to no sodium. Low sodium soups and foods like that. If you have specifics just let us know and we will try to help as much as possible.
Log your food and you want to have about 50% carbs/25% protein/ and 25% fats. This is what you should be shooting for then you can adjust as your body needs. Try to keep the sodium below 2500mg.
