Hi everyone!
I am so excited to start my weight loss plan and this site has been so helpful it has like calories for everything and what is good and not good! I started yesterday off to a good start and hope to continue to my goal weight!
A little about me....
I am 20 years old living in Minnesota attending college and working part time lately I have been becoming more active, I use to be really active in high school but then that faded off :( but now my girlfriends and I attend a bodypump workout at school twice a week. It works every muscle in your body and feels great! I am currently about 143 pounds and my goal weight is 125, I have always had hard times keeping to diets so hopefully with everyones support and my keeping to it will get me at that weight.
I just wanted to say HI to everyone and introduce myself.
Oh, I do have a question about the burn meter, how does that work? Is it counting down or up or what? If anyone could clarify exactly how that works it would be great! ![]()
hello! its nice to meet you. i however am new aswell. i am excited to lose some weight as well.
about me.. i am 19 years old and i am 5ft 2in and i weigh around 134.. i am slightly overweight and i would LOVE to be 117 pounds again and that is my goal.. however i have a little tricky problem. i have celiac disease (allergic to wheat) and i have been trying my gluten free diet for 2 weeks (extreme... not eating gluten containing foods AT ALL) very hard. lol. and i have lost 7 pounds.. WOW.. so i am going to continue doing this and hopefully be back to my normal weight!
Welcome! You should be able to find plenty of support here -- and lots of friends in the same situation. A little information on the eat and burn meters:
The EAT meter TOP number shows the number of calories you have selected as your target goal (in your account settings -- you can change it)
The EAT meter BOTTOM number reflects the calories you are logging into your food log.
The BURN meter TOP number is the total estimated calories you burn based on your age, height, current weight, gender, and activity level -- if you set yourself as "sedentary" and then add in your activity calories -- those are added into the TOP number.
The BURN meter BOTTOM number shows how many calories you have burned at the moment you are looking at the meter. This number starts at 0 at midnight, reflects all the calories you burned throughout the night while sleeping, all the calories you burn just by living, and calories normally expended at your listed activity level. When (If) you add in activity minutes -- it will also reflect that added to the total.
If you stay up til midnight you can see both meters switch over to 0
himlbrett & Jnessa055 - you too ladies sound like me when I was a little younger. I don't know how tall Himlbrett is but I'm 5' 2" too and my absolute perfect weight is 120lbs. I'm 31 now and about 185lbs. If I could reach 140lbs I'd be happy, it wouldn't give me a body like Britney but I'd probably think of myself as "normal" again.
I found the need to start dieting at about the age of 20 when my weight crept up after moving in with my boyfriend. When I did weigh 140lbs I felt fat and unattractive but looking back at photographs from the time and all my dieting/weightgaining experience since has told me that I was still OK at 140lbs and I should have appreciated myself more. Hindsight!
I hope you both do well on your diets. I'm new to the forums too and hope I can find inspiration from other members strength and willpower! Following a wheat-free diet would be tough for me but I suppose you'll feel a lot better for it with celiac disease.
Hi cakes181064
I am 5'2" but I sometimes say I am 5'3" :) and around 140 lbs and I noticed right after high school, my first year living off away from the parents I did not gain weight but I have noticed since I moved in with my boyfriend a little over a year ago I have started to creep on the pounds, I still fit into everything but I am getting sick of it and I always say I look and feel fat! I really hope to stick to this diet and eating right and slim down to 125 or so because then I would feel just great! And I am moving to CA and all the women out there are like size 0's haha and I just want to look good and feel good about myself.
I really hope to meet some really great and inspiring ladies on here!
