Newbie looking for friends/support

Quote  |  Reply

Hi, I am also new to this site.  I am looking for a friend or 2 to go through yet another diet with - I'm really hoping to stick with it this time and make it last!  A little bit about me - I am 42, soon to be 43 (Oct. 27th).  I am married with two teenagers - a son who is 16 and a daughter who is 14.  I am 5'4" and weigh 160 lbs.  My goal weight is 125, although the site calculated my goal weight to be 131.1 - I'm more comfortable around 120-125.  I am a horrible dieter - I love my junk food and tend to skip meals then be STARVING and eat lots of junk...If you'd like to be friends I'd like to be yours too.  Just reply and we can start our weight loss journey together!  Good luck!  Jackie

Hi Heather and Christine, I think I added you both as friends...hope so anyway!  I've had a bad day today - fighting with teenage daughter, went over my calories, have a headache and am tired....I always get so grumpy when I first start a diet, and my mood doesn't improve that much as I go on...at least not until I start seeing results.  Since this is only day 2 I think I'll probably be a grump for a while... Good luck to both of you and thanks for the friendship!  Jackie

Hi Jackie & heather.

Try to remember what it feels like to wear those tight jeans! I think we all get grumpy when we diet. I know I do started a week ago ans still on edge. My weakness is weekends!

I have a sister that is thin and I hat ebeing the FAT sister- I never use to have a weight problem When I turned 35 my weight just kept gettign higher. Now 3 years late I am 55 LBS heavier and need to lose it. I like this site because I can say what a I feel. easier to do when not someone you are looking right in the eye. I hope this works for me.

I am watching what I eat and have started the DASH diet as well . My blood pressure is very high. Need to get healthy

I am here for you both.

Christine

Hey Christine, what is the DASH diet???  I know how you feel too - I was always the thin one and when I hit 35 the weight started to add up just a little bit...then when I hit 40 all hell broke loose and just looking at food made me fatter!  I think it is harder when you've been thin all your life to have to diet when you are older cause it is so unnatural to watch what you eat...never had to for most of my entire life!  Have a good diet day today!
