Newbie on a mission

Quote  |  Reply
Hi everyone, I'm new here and to posting so patience is appreciated. I am on a mission! After two kids  and moving to a different state I managed to tack on 20 unwanted pounds. I just completed my second day of this 30 day cleanse I'm doing and I'm feeling pretty good. I'm looking to make friends with positive, motivating people to help me stay on track! Any recipes for 300 cal meals are appreciated.Wink

Hi jasminej!  What is the cleanse routine?
I would like to know that too

The company is called isagenix. My mom is an assoiciate and has been pushing it on me for years and of course she's my mom so I naturally pushed against, but she was able to retire last year and is a fifty year old that looks likes she's 35! So after two years of fighting her I'm decided to give it a shot. There are two programs, a nine day and a thirty day cleanse. On a nine day you could expect to lose 7-15lbs and an endless amount of inches and a thirty day might take longer but with more to show for it at the end. But here's how it works..... on the nine day: the first two days you are drinking only their liquid supplement four times during the day, along with tons of water, half of an apple, some celery and a few almonds. On the days in between, days 3-7, you have the protein shake with your choice of fruit in the morning, a 400-600 calorie meal for lunch and then a shake again for dinner. Then you cleanse again on the last two days. On a thirty day, it's the same process, only you are only cleansing one day a week. So for me I cleansed on Monday and will cleanse again next monday and so forth for the next 28 days, and right now I'm on my shake days. You can switch it up a little too though, like for me I eat the shake in the morning (chocolate with strawberries this morning)(, yesterday I had vanilla with peaches, but then I make two smal 300 calorie meals and then the shake for dinner. I did this because I love to eat, and on meal a day is too small for me especially since I love to cook. It really is a lifestyle change, you must keep the same eating habits, and treat yourself occasionally of course but otherwise the weight will just go right back on. But the premise behind the system is that we all are toxic and ingest toxic things on a daily basis. Theses toxins that enter our body are protected by fat molecules as the body defense system. In order to release those fat molecules you must release their underlying toxins hence cleansing. Not a colon cleanse, a total body, cellular cleanse. You can check out my wesite at www.4lifecleansing.isagenix.com

Hope this helps, I will also be posting a daily diary on my status, to date I've already lost 2lbs, and 2.5 inches!

I work with a guy who does that program as well.

Those cleanse products are not really any different than changing your eating habits and exercising...he does that program then eats garbage and drinks so he never loses weight.  There's really no magical weight loss product.

Our bodies are natural detoxifiers and if you're not filling it with junk you'll get better results.  A slimfast shake fasting would give you about the same results because you cut out everything else but it's not really a healthy approach that's CHANGING what was wrong in the first place.

You wonder why they're coming up with all these studies linking red meat to cancer?  Our bodies don't need to consume 12oz steaks and burgers in one sitting more than once a day...it doesn't digest like vegetables would. Portion control needs to be exercised. You can't eat a porterhouse, baked potato, a huge salad covered in dressing and bread and remain healthy.  You can get the results you're desiring by changing your diet and exercising.  If our bodies kept all these toxins in them, the majority of us would be a lot sicker than we already are.  I used to be the type to get a cold or flu VERY often...especially when I wasn't sleeping well.  I changed my eating habits, I work out, and I get at least 7-8 hours a night.  I haven't gotten even close to being sick in the last 5 months even if I have a night I don't get much sleep.

I'm not saying every single body works the same but if you really want to lose weight and keep it off in a healthy way...any doctor will tell you change your diet and exercise.

your absolutely right, it is a lifestyle change and being consistant with it and your right there is no magical weight loss product out there but there are plenty of things you can do to help and cleansing is definately one of them. Our bodies will not detoxify everything on it's own so extra help does in fact help along with lifestyle changes. I think this is why so many people in the us are really sick and the obesity rate is so high. Down here in south Texas 75% of the population has diabetes, even children. It's really sad. You said it yourself he does the product but then turns around and puts the crap right back in which is why he doesn't lose any weight, imagine if he did the product stringently along with the neccesary lifestyle change. I'm in the gym at least five time a week, and generally eat fairly healthy, the problem for me is consistancy which is why I'm hoping a thirty day program will help me stay on track. My husband did one successfully last year in conjuction with running 5 days a week and managed to drop 60lbs. Again he put it back on because of not being consistent and maintaining a healthy lifestyle change. I hope this year will be different for me because I'm tired of going up and down, up and down, which is why I made the decision to get help with another product in conjunction with my regular gym routine. I do have to disagree with you about slimfast shakes though, there are 45grams of sugar in them also they have half the amount of protein and nutrition as isagenix shakes, not to mention the digestive enzymes, amino acids and no use of antibiotics or hormones in isagenix whey protein and all products. I'll be keeping an update of my progress and hope that for once and all I can keep the wight off and lookin smokin in a bkini this summer. Anywho this site is really cool, it's the first time I've ever participated in something like this and I'm glad I found it to b able to chat with people like you, thanks for replying and take care.
The slim fast thing was just an example..I don't pay much attention to the content on it cuz I don't drink them:)  I think that product you mentioned can be beneficial to someone who may not be getting the right amount of vitamins and protein in their diet.

i think this was a good example! you had great input but, unfortunately i think you are preaching to the choir here. sounds to me like that chick is a spokesperson for that stuff and in here to sale it!Money mouth

we are here to change what was wrong in the first place. our eating and exercise routines are not working  for us and there fore we are looking to change it so it does. not a quick fix but a lifetime change.

kat

I think Sportstergirl is right on the money...  We're here because we know the quickfixes are gimmicks, the only way to change is to change your lifestyle.

Hi Jasmine!

I'm Kristen.  I'm positive, motivated, and ready to stay on track.  Need some extra help let me know.

XOXOXO

nice try sportsgirl and back beat guy but I'm knee deep in selling real estate not selling the product. It's too bad there is people like you handing out negative energy to people like me who are using a product to help to HELP, NOT FIX my battle with weight. How would you feel if someone was judging you during your own personal struggle? I joined this community to meet friends and to help keep my motivation up, I thought that's what this site was for.. not bashing or judging. If you would have read my reply through and through then you would have realized I am on the same side you are, trying to make a TOTAL lifestyle change in mind, body and spirit and actually stick to it.
