Some Newbie Questions

Quote  |  Reply

I just signed up for the site last night and started logging this morning.

Is there some place that explains the grade's to me. I am curious should I be working on eating A and B foods most of the time?

Also when I exercise, am I suppose to eat those calories burned back or are they just a bonus to losing weight a bit faster.

Nope, foods are lost listed by grade.  In any event, those grades are open to dispute.  So, I wouldn't bother too much about them.

If you're trying to lose weight, you might wish to cut your daily calorie intake a little and also not eat the exercise calories back, but if you're trying to maintain, you should eat.

I think generally fresh fruits and veg are A graded, everything else will be lower. They can be confusing though so I think just look at the actual nutrients as opposed to just the grade.

I can't remember the exact thing about eating back calories you burn with extra excercise, I think it's something like if you go to the gym and burn 500 calories then eat an extra 250 but if you don't do extra excercise on a day (other than your normal daily routine) then eat to your limit.

Check on the Ask Mary section though because I don't think that's entirely accurate :)
