Just newly signed on and must lose 131lbs.
Welcome !
It's not about how heavy you are but it is about the fact that you are doing something about it. You've taken the first step now.
It can be a long haul but as soon as you start seeing the results, you will realise it is worth it. I'm glad that you are going to enjoy it. I love the challenge and I look forward to my weigh in every Friday.
Best of luck.
Actually, there are quite a few people on here with well over 100, 150 or even 200 pounds to lose.
Welcome to CC!

I don't have as much to lose but I felt the same way before I joined.
We are all here to address different needs, some to lose, some to gain, some maintaining, and still others in ED recovery.
I love it here on CC the tools the support, well I've lost 24 pounds since January and I couldn't have done it alone.
Welcome fishandchips!

I lost 170 pounds (WITHOUT surgery), and have been maintaining my weight of 124 for 5 months now.
It can be done. It just takes time and patience. There are people on here who know the struggles, withdrawals, and exciting moments this journey holds.
Ah I smile at newcomers ;)
Hell All, I,m new here. I just registered and still trying to figure this site out. I ran across this post and just wanted to say that I too have 100 or more pounds to lose. I actually started making changes on 2-2-08. I have lost 12 pounds and 22.75 inches. I count calories and try to exercise daily ( that part doesn't always work ). I try to stay between 1200 and 1300 calories. I weigh and measure once a week. I did get extemely sick about a week after I started and didn't do anything healthful during that time. I ate anything quick and easy and then the rest of the time I stayed in bed. My husband is in between jobs at the moment ( due to a massive lay-off this past October ), so he took complete care of the 3 that we have running around ( ages 17, almost 8, and 2 1/2 ). After I got over being sick I got back on track. I am not losing as fast as I expected to but I've come to the point that that can be a good thing. I'm still working at it day by day . I do know that one day I will get to the weight that I want to be. Just wanted you to know that there are more of us out here with alot to lose. Good luck on your journey.
