night time snack

Quote  |  Reply

does anyone else find that they CANNOT fall asleep unless they have a snack before bed?  I will lay in bed for hours, completely awake, until I have a tiny snack.  It is the same whether I eat 2200 cals or 1400 cals or 1800 cals!  I always worry that this is sabotaging my weight loss but it is torture to lay awake!

I let my room mate hit me at the base of my skull with a ball-peen hammer every night before bed.  Puts me right to sleep snack free.  :D

lol, that is a good idea!

your post made me laugh ! Laughing

I too like the night time snack.  Most of the time I have a bag of Granny Smith apples on hand.  I do not feel guilty eating one even if it puts me over my calorie limit.  Plus the extra fiber is a bonus the next day! Smile

I have had this problem for quite some time! Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night, like 1 am! I cannot go back to sleep unless I eat something. Just until recently I have made a BIG change in my night time eating. I do not eat past 9 (I go to bed around 11), and I put my mouth wash on my counter. No, I don't drink mouth wash lol....but when I get up in the middle of the night, I gargle with my mouthwash, and that seems to kick it. I just hope in my groggy-state I dont walk into the kitchen and start sipping on my listerine....:P

Me too. I want salty, sweet, crunchy... Now I try and make sure to have bfast ASAP, and beleive me, I dont have night cravings. When i do skip bfast I do crave so I have been trying to do other stuff if its too late to be eating. Polish my nails so I wont touch anything, brush and gargle (I hate feeling like Im dirtying my mouth again), last night @ 10:30pm I went to the gym. I think the urge to work out was because my friend noticed my weight loss. So I went shopping for clothes almost everything I tried fit except the jeans. Im down another size!! Anyway... When I came home from working outI was hungry but more tired so I went straight to sleep (eeww stinky)

Yeah I do that sometimes.  The shower just seems like so much work.  When I wake up in the morning I'm like "Oh I smell so awesome".  :b

I sit on the couch and munch on dry plain cherrios late. Not sure what it does for me in regards to sleeping but right after finishing a bowl I frequently fall asleep.

hmmm, good tips.  i like the cheerios one, that sounds satisfying.  I'll have to try the gargle thing too.  I like working out before bed for the same reason- you are to tired to do anything but sleep, I could do without the waking up stinky part.  lol
