Nighttime weight loss??
Does anyone have a clue why or how it is that I can weigh myself at night, and invariably weigh 2--3 lbs less in the morning (and no, I don't use the bathroom overnight). What's up with that!!???
I think because you burn calories all the time - even during sleep? Could be wrong though.
Are you wearing the same clothing when you weigh yourself at night, and when you weigh yourself the next morning?
The food you ate throughout the day is also still present within your body at night before you go to bed. When it gets digested, it loses mass, so even if you weigh yourself before going to the bathroom, you weigh less because the food you ate last night has been reduced to a much smaller amount as waste.
I usually weigh 2-4lbs heavier at night before I go to bed. It's been a good indicator of what I'll weigh the next day, to be honest. I don't weigh myself at night all the time, though, because the only weight that matters to me is the one I take in the morning before eating and drinking anything, and after having eliminating all of my waste products, if possible.
I believe that when you weight yourself at night you have to take into consideration the fact that you have been eating stuff all day, drinking water all day and even your feet get swollen from walking all day so your weight is higher than it is in the morning when you are fresh, most of your food has been digested and you haven't had any intake for about 7 hours.
you also lose water through perspiration. I don't know the exact amt. but I thought like a pint or quart... omg don't laugh at me if I am way off. rof I know it was a lot cause I thought it was odd that I wasn't all wet when I woke up if I was losing that much while I slept. :/

I also always lose between 1-3 lbs each night. It's fabulous. Like the posters above said it's sweat and breathing and every other way we excrete water. Amazing isn't it!!
Not only water but you also exhale Carbon (in the form of carbon dioxide, the product of converting your food to energy) and sweat has salts and some carbon in it too. All that little stuff adds up.
Thats why you should never weigh yourself right before bed. All the food and water in your body will give you a false reading. What you weigh in the morning, right after you wake up is your true weight.

I like THAT weight-loss plan--sleep more . . . The Slimmin' Slumber plan I'll call it! ![]()
lol For me the way to avoid eating too much or dinner too early was by taking a nap. Whenever my family saw me sleeping they knew it was because I was hungry lol.

that's pretty funny!
I always get hungry at night before bed. I used to give into those cravings and have some late night snacks (which we all know are the worst because it turns right into stores of fat). So by forcing myself to go to sleep, it would allow me to be relieved of the hunger, and I could just wake up in the morning and have a slightly larger breakfast, which is far healthier than late night snacks.
