on nite stands
So, do you have a nightstand by your bed? What's it look like? What's on it?
maple in color, on it are a lamp, alarm clock, lotion (hand lotion, c'mon all you dirty minds), all those damn mate-less socks who's match I keep hoping to make a miraculous re-appearance, a couple bottles of water and dog treats to coax the little one into her crate at night.
a lamp
a flashlight
a clock radio
and several books
Chewing gum, aglass of water, a couple of exercise magazines, a cook book & 99 lbs spray be gone.
Mine is actually a toy box...in it are all the stuffed creatures of my childhood because I cannot part with them.
On it are tissues, alarm/radio, clip-on reading light, and an orange sharpee that doesn't work
Mine is a dark brown floating night stand and the following items can be found on it at any given time:
A lamp
A couple of remote controls
Glass with water
Blackberry (ugh, I know!)
Various hair things (head band, rubber bands, hair pins, etc)
:-)
Thanks for turning this around, hkellick.
I actually have a homemade 5' shelf on either side of our bed, and they are both crammed with miscellaneous computer/office/book stuff. There is an alarm clock on hubby's side, and his new CPAP machine (wonder if it helped - I had to spend the night with the youngest).
Maple, single-drawer, bookshelf underneath.
it supports:
Lamp
Clock radio with nature sounds
Several books
hair tie
Water glass
iPhone (occasionally)
A mound of used Q-tips
Three old band-aids.
Half a container of yogurt - from 3 weeks ago.
Porn.
Nipple clamps.
Little Golden Books.
I use a small, three shelf bookcase as a night stand. On it is a pile of books, a lamp, the alarm clock and when I'm sleeping, my glasses.

This Little Golden Book?
I don't have a nighstand in the conventional sense. But I have something at the head of my bed, and it has an upper shelf and a lower shelf.
UPPER: iPod, wallet, glass Coca-Cola bottle from Germany, lots of candles, identification I'm too lazy to put back in wallet, a Hello Kitty pencil holder which spins
LOWER: a shoebox of old notebooks, the books I'm currently reading, a notebook, various knickknacks, water bottle
I have one nite stand with my alarm clock on it. Sometimes a lamp until Tucker decides to knock it off.
Oh, hahaha :3
I actually don't have a night stand... but if I were to get one, there would be a nice cute little lamp with books and glasses.
I have a small dresser beside my bed. When I found it in the lane way, it was painted barbie pink. It's white now. It's a favorite. It holds...
a lamp - I strung chain around the shade and hang my earings on it
a pencil box - containing everything I need to sketch or write
a funky jewelery box - made by brother in law
a beautiful little bowl from china town - for my rings
my ipod is often there
a book - Running with Scissors
and weirdly, a metallic red box with 7 very cute stuffed rats inside - give aways
Its cozy there.

let's see mine is a crappy "wood" pre-fab one i put together myself. i'd actually really like a new one.
on it, a lamp, my clock radio, my glasses, hand lotion (i can't get into bed with out putting lotion on my hands and feet), and hair elastic or two.
on the shelf underneath, several books.
in the drawer...never you mind! ;p
mine is an ikea beauty and has some jewellery, reciepts, a book, a glass of water, baby wipes and usually my phone.

Good book! :)
I have a lovely dark wood Pier 1 nightstand. It has a lamp and an alarm clock on it, which are stuck to the top with museum wax because my cat likes to pick up my clock by the electrical cord and toss it over the side to wake me up. I don't dare keep anything else on it.
