HI...

I've stopped lurking and now am taking an active roll in using the tools like the food log and activity log.  Is there a way to cut and paste previous menues or save your favorite foods so your not constantly looking them up?

Any points to threats or forumns would be very appreciated!

Thank you

I think you use the tagging function, but I don't really log food on here, so I'm not sure.

I have the same question.  I don't want to be looking up the same foods every time.  I have tried tagging it, but then can't find my tags.  Does anyone know if we can keep our own food journal food list of things we typically buy and eat?  Kathy

If you are sick of looking things up (I am!) then you gotta tag it.

Go to your food log and next to the food search bar there is a lred "add it here" link where you can add your food. Type in all the nutritional information you know about it. The more, the better. Then add it to your food log.

Once it has been added to your food log, to the right of the food there is a little symbol with a "T" on it. Click on it to tag it. There you can name it. From then on, all you need to do is go to your tagged food items section and there it is waiting for you.

I hope this was helpful!

The other thing you can do is look back on previous food logs that had that food.  For example, I have the same thing almost every day for breakfast, so sometimes it is easier to just add it again (remember to change the date!) than to search through my tagged items list, which is beginning to get rather extensive (it needs a search option!).

Also, if you are putting together a casserole or something with lots of ingredients, you can use "New Recipe" under the "Foods" tab, add in the ingredients, and it will calculate everything for you.  You can save this recipe, or just add a serving to your food log.

Thanks for this info.  I'll try it. So far, I don't know how to look back at what I ate yesterday, but I suspect it's by changing the date. Right?

Okay, I found out how to go back and forth, how to change the date, and how to add it again.  Thanks for all of your help.

To look back on your previous day's foods, hover on the "My Account" tab, then click "Food Log".  Scroll down to the bottom where it says "Date Range" and you can change the date there.

wow,  thanks for all the info.  that helped alot.  I've been using recipes and didn't know about the recipe anayliser that's a really neat option.

And now that I get the tagged thing it really makes adding foods so much easier.

Is there anyway to note if your snacks are mid day or afternoon? as apposed to getting all lumped together?

Not that I know of, but you could develop your own system, by not selecting a meal option for midday snacks, only using the snack option for afternoon snacks??  That is one of those things I wish CC did...
