I am wondering what the normal deficit is for days I do not work out.  On Sedetay I burn 1887 cals, what should be my cal intake?  Or what should the deficit be?  What about days I work out?  If I burn 2900 calories?

I was told that a healthy deficit is 500-750 calories.  What do you do to burn 1000 in 1 day????  I am thrilled when I burn 300!!!
Yup 500 - 750 no matter what, if you burn 1887 - no less than 1200.
If you burn 2900 no less than 2200.  Note that I had to UP the number because you never want to go under 1200 calories for a woman and 1500 for a man (assuming you a woman here heather:)  And that 1200 is net, so if you burn 1000 calories you need to eat 2200 and that is still taking chances it is better to do the 500 number which looks something like this: 1450 on days you are sedentary and 2450 on days you are super extreemly active.
Running at a moderate pace (10 minutes/mile) can burn 1000 calories in an hour and a half, generally speaking, or a couple hours of jump-rope. Those are the quickest, simplist ways to burn calories that I know of, without equipment :)

Your calorie deficit should never be more than 1000, and 750-500 deficit is generally considered optimal.
So, on sedentary days, you could eat anywhere from 1200-1387 for a 500+ deficit.
On days you work out, (assuming you burn 2900, obviously you can adjust this is you work out less some days) you could eat 2150-2400. It's important to feed your body enough on these days, to make sure you get optimal performance. Make sure you give your body time to digest meals before exercising.
When I work out I usually do the eliptical, treadmill, and weight lifting.  I also every other day do a step aerobic class.  Thanks for helping me out, I think I understand now.
