Is it normal to show a weight gain after working out?
Is it normal to show a weight gain after working out? I eat healthy and take my vitamins, I am 5' 2", use to weight 235 and now am 153 lbs. I noticed that this last 30 pounds I want to loose is going much slower than the rest. I added light weights, resistance training, exercise bike and elliptical into my workouts of basically 4 times a week. But things aren't going down the fluctuate and after my workouts the scale will show around 155. Also, alot of good changes with my body during this past month and a half. Thanks for any help or even tips.

It could be from water retention. As you exercise, your body hides away water to repair itself.
Muscle weighs more than fat, so maybe your toning more than losing now.
Also, you lose weight faster at 220lbs than at 150lbs since your body has to put more effort into moving yourself. At least, that's what I've heard (and makes sense) So maybe your results will just be a bit slower from now on.
Just possibilities, I don't really know for sure.
PS : Great results! Good job!
You may be right. I did loose the rest of the weight a little too fast. I added the other things to try and build muscle, yet I am still trying to walk alot. Maybe.... hard to tell. 100 pounds all together when I am done has gone crazy during the process. Thank you for the vote of confidence also. Those do mean alot and feel good.

Since you are lifting weights, I think your muscles may be retaining water.
I used to freak out a bit too, but I remember someone linking to

and it helped me understand a bit more how the body works.
Rome wasn't built in one day, so keep on going to see more results! Don't give up!

Your body could be retaining water for numerous reasons. Make sure you are eating mostly whole natural foods without adding a ton of salt (You can add some, I'm talking excessive shaking of the shaker!). Doing this and drinking A LOT of water (I drink a gallon) at least 12 cups should help you to release the water you many be holding. It could also be the glycogen in your muscles if you are lifting. Once again drinking a lot of water will help. You need water to lose water. I wouldn't go over a gallon though unless it's really hot out and you are sweating like crazy. If you are eating right, exercising, and your clothes are getting tighter then I'd stay off the scale! :) Easier said than done...I know!! :)

Figure out what type of eater you are and you might just find the answer to permanent weight loss.
