what have you noticed during weight loss?
Today I noticed for the first time that my belly button didn't look like just a deep hole anymore, the skin at the top of it was more taught, you know that little bit of skin where a piercing would go, like this...not to that extent yet, but exciting to see something changing :)
Another thing I noticed about a month ago, is button up shirts aren't bursting at the bust as much anymore - my chest hadn't shrank really at that point (it has a little bit now), so I took it as a sign I've lost back fat, yay! I really hated that! Especially when the space between 2 buttons would pucker leaving an opened hole giving everyone a nice view.
This kind of post has definitely been done, but people seem to like them, myself included! Who doesn't want to talk about the good stuff?
When I go to movies I can sit comfortably with my knees up and my feet on the seat (don't worry, I take my shoes off). There's so much more room in all chairs now that I'm smaller, lol.
Also this is more of a fitness thing, but I have so much energy now. This is really good for me right now, in the dead of winter, when everyone else seems so lethargic. I don't want to stay inside and sit around all day. I want to go to the gym and run until I can't run anymore, lol.
I don't have nearly as much belly schmoosh (yes, that is a technical term
) over the top of my pants now, and my back cleavage (again, veerrryy technical) is almost completely gone.
I can't wait for the day (among many things) where I regain definition in my collar bones. I know it's weird, but to me, a defined collar bone (not too much mind you) puts emphasis on thinness / leanness, and is sexy.
Some things that I've noticed with my weightloss:
First of all, I second the button down shirt thing! Other than that:
I can slide into my car comfortably (I'm short so I have to have the seat almost all the way forward) and have the steering wheel down low without it squishing my thighs.
I can wear a hair tie around my wrist without it cutting off my circulation.
I went down a shoe size (before my feet were fatter so I had to buy a bigger size)
I can bend down to tie my shoes without getting out of breath.
I can cross my legs for the first time in my life.
Hahaha another thing I noticed: when I first started going to the gym, when I would wash my hands in the bathroom with the automatic faucet, would reach and my stomach pushed over the counter would start the water running before my hands reached it...that no longer happens :-)

Yeah I was pretty sure it's been done, but I didn't get to partake in them :P
I have less belly schmoosh too lol, although it still shows over my pants if I'm not wearing baggier ones, I really can't wait til it doesn't do that anymore - that's the major thing I wanted to lose, so I can stop trying to suck it in, everything else could be more or less hid with clothing.

I hear ya. I'm always trying to "suck it in" too, but of course, every picture that's ever taken without you knowing has to be when you WEREN'T.
I've seen some pictures, where you just go "Oh gawd!" when you see them. ![]()
OMG...the belly button thing!! I thought I was the ONLY person that this happened to.
I was lying down not too long ago and my bf pointed out my "cute belly button". I looked down and realized it wasn't a cavern anymore and was actually a really cute little belly button. I immediately went and put all my navel jewelry back in (3 pieces total). It had been 8 months since I had it out and I was dreading putting it back because in my head, I didn't have the stomach I wanted. I all but chalked it up to a loss.
I also noticed my cheeks...I actually have cheeks, like, skin. Not little balls of protrusions that stick out when I smile. I don't mind smiling anymore.
I too noticed the finger thing, my rings are all very lose on me.
...after 50 pounds, I also notice that I no longer huff and puff up the stairs, I can "run down the driveway to get the mail" and not come back all bent out of shape and wanting to sit down. I park in the farthest parking spot available when shopping, (I don't want any dings in my jeep door) and now when I get to the store I don't look like I just ran the marathon. I have so much more energy now than I have in the past.
I totally forgot I used to do that until I read your post!
Thanks for the reminder that life is much better now!
I've lost 35 pounds so far and somehow I feel taller and my legs feel longer. Definitely less stomach schmoosh and my boobs are getting smaller (thank God!)
4 months ago when I started getting serious about losing weight I decided never to take the elevator again in my office building. Going up the three flights of stairs to my office in the mornings left me feeling out of breath for at least 5 minutes and now it's still not fun, but I can carry on a conversation while going up the stairs and not end up too embarrassingly out of breath. Now I find myself going up and down at least 6 times a day and it feels good to get those bursts of exercise in. I'm glad I started something like that right away so now I can feel the difference. I can't wait to run up the stairs after losing another 35 pounds!
i realize that this is all females in this discussion, but i wanted to share too. i have lost about 36 pounds so far with a 100 to go. but i already have moved up two belt holes on my belt. and i had to make 2 new belt holes for my work belt. so that is nice. and all my XXL shirts that used to be really tight on me are almost too big now. i can't wait until i am at my goal and i can take one of those stereotypical pictures of me in my old jeans. that'll be fun.

lol, mine got smaller too, unfortunately not really in relation to the rest of my body, so I still have the button-down shirt issue, because if it fits me in the boobs, it's a tent everywhere else, or if it fits everywhere else, it's tight across the chest. It isn't as bad as it used to be though ;)
bigbrett22 - men are always welcome. And cheers to the belts. I didn't keep a pair of pants, or anything really, for me to take a picture in, kind of wish I had.
I've lost about a stone and couldnt really notice much - mainly because its been sooooo slow! (since June) - but I tried on my graduation dress and its much looser now - i had to squeeze into it back in June and now - there's space!
When I look at pictures of me then, I have got a chubbier face...Im just waiting for the weight to start coming off my hips
