Feb 3rd Weigh In POST will close Feb 5th @ 11:59pm!

All member's who have joined and haven't posted at least two one weigh in will be removed from an active team and place on an inactive team. We have about 2-3 members on each team that haven't posted their weigh in's since we have started. Once those team members who are non participants are place in inactive status we will continue as usually with the challenge but there will be less memebers on each team and I will try to make sure each team has the same amount of members!

I still haven't received EVERYONE'S before photo! PLEASE SEND ASAP! NO OFFSENSIVE PHOTO'S PLEASE!

I might just be weird in this, but it works for me, so it might help someone else out there... 

 Candles. 

Scented candles are amazing.  I got a gingerbread cookie scented candle a couple weeks ago, and I just smell it every now and then, and somehow it keeps me from eating sweets.  Maybe because I'm replacing tasting with smelling?  I don't know, all I know is it helps keep me on track. 

As for when I'm around cookies and things, I just think of how many calories they all have in them, which is too many to make it worth it right now since I'm trying to lose a decent amount of weight, and that generally keeps me in line. 

If you can't shake the sweet tooth, try making fruit smoothies in a healthy way?  This is something I plan on doing soon, I just need to buy a blender...  :) 

Lolz, thinking about it, I probably am just abnormal with the scented candle deal.  =)

Actually there have been studies proving that smelling a candle scented like baked goods can actually curb cravings. However because I LOVE to cook and bake, anything that smells like food makes me want to make it. I have a choc chip cookie candle and everytime I burn it I get a huge cookie craving. I stopped keeping baking ingredients in my house. I have flour for gravy, and sugar for dh's tea but thats it. The sugar doesn't help though because I make peanut butter cookies with just 1 egg 1 cup sugar and 1 cup of peanut butter. I am sure if Iwere to get good for you pb and splenda it wouldn't be so bad though..lol

candles? i have to try that!

well for me the best way not to overgo my cals is to plan something for the evening which does not include eating. like the night before i went to a concert and yesterday i attended a lecture, keeps my mind and hands of food.

also what really prevents cravings for me is exercise and proper food combination and avoiding sweets - the less i have them the less i want them. but exercise is crucial keeps my mood up and probably the level of endorphines and i eat less. my exercise plan is: 3xweek vigorous yoga, 1xweek swimming, and i walk a lot cause i don't have a car

and loving attitude towards myself helps a lot! thinking that i can and deserve to be who i want to and that i want to nourish my body with the food not posion myself.

this evening i'm going for dinner to my best friend's :) lots of cals... :/

It's ok this way but I think it could be more support if we had the team members to motivate us! Just my 2 cents.

I'm just starting off with this so I think talking to others could be helpful.
Willti:  I got the candle from Wal-Mart, actually.  It was like $5.  =) 

Thanks melt_the_fat. Going to the gym really helps me too. On the days I do go, I do very well, on days I don't I overindulge on everything I crave. Now that I don't have chocolate in the house, I am beginning to crave tangerines... I guess that's better. But I really need to try and keep myself busy, now I'm usually in my room working on homework, studying, reading and all that fun stuff, but I haven't been outside much at all. The only time I am outside is when I am walking to classes or going to the gym. I'm as pale as a ghost! ha ha.  How did the dinner at your friend's go?

 So how is everyone doing? Anyone noticing changes yet?

Question? I am in the middle of my period, is this why maybe no weight loss? I am trying to keep my calorie burn and intake balanced. Am ready to quit trying if I can't break that 230 mark!!! Have bounced with 230.8 and 230.4 for over a week!! Should I just be patient or am I just doomed to be fat?

Unfortunately, not as much as I would've liked. However, for some reason it had been going up for the first half of the week, peaking at 246.2, and it just finally went back down in the last few days.

Hopefully next week will be better!

I've never been a big candle person but I have always bought sweet smelling ones when I do buy them, I am totally a sugar addict, and always noticed that if i smelled them, burning or not it kinda helped curb my sugar cravings. So after it was mentioned I went and bought one, it's oatmeal cookie, and it is helping!

Rotaz, I hear around here that we retain water during our period, so that extra water weight may account any weight gain/stall.

I have a current chocolate chip muffin addiction that I'm trying to kick. I always seem have one or two food addictions at any one point in time! Me and my addictive personality!!!!, not a good thing especially when it extends to food cos I end up eating that particularly food all the time and too much of it until I get fed up of it or another food item replaces it.
