November 2009 - Prayers and Praises
I know we have two days before November - but wanted to ask for prayer for the events taking place everywhere this weekend. My prayer is that christians everywhere will stand up and be bold (myself included) and tell someone that Jesus loves them and died for them and wants a relationship with them. There is so much excitement going on here in my office celebrating such horrible things - the images just make me cringe - (and then they wonder how some can be so wicked when these things happen in real life.)
I know of many churches that offer an alternative to Holloween events (that are free), and our community has a Hallelujah Night that drew over 1,000 participants last year, and I pray that some will hear the gospel of Jesus Christ this weekend and will be saved !
Phil 4:8 - Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things [are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are] of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, think on these things.
Yes, this would definitely be a good weekend to pray specifically for God's will to be done in the earth. I will definitely agree with you in prayer. May God's name be raised during this time. It is a time He has made and I will rejoice in Him and His work. Great post!

Absolutely! I really was never one for Halloween ... I purposely married on November 1st - All Saints Day - 23 years this Sunday.
Just found out Denna woke up yesterday with sinus trouble (again). Please pray for her healing - she is all stuffed up!

I have been placed in an unfortunate position to choose between being a Pastor and my job. The job has told me to make a chose, though it has not interferred with my duties, but they feel as though when I am not here I should be home resting for work, however, the bible says work while it is day...
Needless to say, being made to weigh the difference, there is no comparison as to which one I chose. So God has this under control and I will not worry, but the prayer is for the door God is about to open in this chapter of my life.
So, I guess I am asking to praise God with me that He is about to do a great thing in our ministry and my life.

Wow! I cannot believe a secular job would dictate - God will reward you with many crowns for doing His work and He will provide for your needs. Thank you Lord for this new chapter in Mark's life. ~Norma Jean
Absolutely Mark - all I can think of is "What they meant for Evil, God meant for Good." He does still have power over the other side to bring about His will. We are creatures of habit and don't particular like change, so sometimes He has to force along. "God directs the path of a righteous man" so hang on tight as God puts you where he wants you for right now.

Prayer Request:
It was confirmed today that Karen (nanny317) and her grand-baby has H1N1. Karen's daughter came home earlier in the week with the flu. Please prayer for Karen's household. Also pray for their finances during this down time. Karen runs a small day care out of her home in addition to driving a cab. Please pray for the children that was in her care the days prior to the official confirmation of the virus from her daughter.
Prayer Request:
Please continue to pray for my Granddaughter. She has been admitted to hospital in respitory distress last night at 3am. I am waiting another 30 minutes before I can get an assessment on her from the floor nurses. As I myself am ill I cannot go to the hospital to be with her which is very hard. Thank you for your prayers, they mean so much to me and to her!
On the halloween topic: My church hosts Night in the Light, a festival night that has the teen and youth ministries create game booths and encourages everyone in the area to celebrate the evening in a bright, happy environment. Kids get candy and tickets for playing games, and tickets can be redeemed for little toys and more candy. Also, since it's Minnesota, it's nice to stay inside on a cold evening :)
It attracts thousands of kids each year, and I was actively involved with it while I was in the youth ministry, since we started small and had maybe 30-50 children come to our first Night in the Light :)
Granddaughter still in hospital but starting to respond to treatment. Her oxygen level is staying higher for longer periods. it would keep going down below 80 but now seems to be between 90-95 hopefully she can come home soon but I know that the hospital is the best place for her right now.
I am on Tamiflu. Its an anti viral for influenza and H1N1. Bed rest and fluids. I am doing much better. Each day I feel stronger though I am still coughing pretty hard.
Gbaby needed another mask in the middle of the night her oxygen went down so not sure if she will be coming home today.. waiting to hear from daughter after Doctor make thier rounds and see her. I can't wait to get her home.. but.. I have no Oxygen here so she has to be able to maintain her blood oxygen level without oxygen or medicated masks before they will release her. My daughter has not left her side. I wish I could be there.
Thank you all so much for your prayers. It does appear that the worst is over Gbaby is def responding to treatments and they are hopeful to release her today, but it may not happen today.. if not today then hopefully tomorrow!!!!!
Thank You heavenly father for Your grace in her recovery. Your will be done. Thank You for the strength You gave me in this trying time. You said You would never leave us and You never have, not in the brightest moments or the darkest days. Thank You Jesus for Your healing blessing for my Granddaughter and for myself.

Thank you everyone for their prayers. He was very gracious in blessing my family with gaining their health back. All is well Praise be to Jesus who annointed us in our hour of need.

Please pray for my baby bear, Breanna. She is sick. She has been running temperatures of 103.0 ish. Took her to the doctor. While the test came back negative for the flu (either type), the doctor said "It is evident that her little body is fighting a virus of some sort." He told us to take her home, watch her closely, get fluids down her. Bring her back Wednesday if there is not a change.
I hate it when my children are sick. I feel so helpless. It makes me feel like an idiot and that I don't know what I am doing.......
