I think I've gotten myself confused on stage 4-- I am not sure if I dreamed this or read it somewhere or what and the book doesn't say anything about it so I just want to make sure I'm not doing this stage wrong like I did with the others-- so question is this:

Are you suppose to go slow and hold the movements in this phase or any phase for that matter????  What do I mean I mean do the lift for 4 seconds hold for 2 seconds then back to start for 2??

I'd post this in the group but its not visited often enough and I am need of an answer today as tonight I do workout B

Thanks in advance for any and all advice!!

Tempo isn't mentioned in NROLFW but it is in NROL.

I'm about done with Stage 4, and haven't been doing that - I would think it would have been in the workout charts (just like rest time is) since I imagine he'd vary it between stages.

I think you are good.

That must have been where I saw it -- I was on a forum for NROL and NROL4W and must have been in the wrong board

thanks !!!

Yeah, they don't talk about temp for NROLFW but in NROL they say a "normal" tempo is generally 311  Where is take 3 seconds to lift, hold for 1 second, then take 1 second to lower.

The only tempo thing I remember is in stage 6 - the pull downs had 411 tempo.

Actually,  it was 114. The workout log said it was 411, but the book said otherwise.

I think...

See, and I didn't know that Tongue out.  That's what I get for skipping Stage 6!

Yep - that's it.... 4 minutes in the negative.  It's been a while for me!  I haven't gotten to weird tempos yet in NROL, but HYP II has different ones.  I will have to pay attention!  I usually just do my lifting "normally" for me.

4 minutes? Boy, those 10 sets fo 2 would take a loooong time

LOL

Yeah - seconds.... oops - I meant 4 seconds.

Yeah, but it seemed like those took forever anyway!

What are you guys talking about!!??

In general? -- New Rules of Lifting For Women Stage 4 workouts -- Specifically? the "tempo" for lifting.  How long in takes to lift, hold and then lower the weight.

Thanks!

OMG-here you are all talking about tempo and timing and its making me hyperventilateSurprised

Hope I can handle what I have started here. I wish there was some sort of correspondence course I could take for coordination.............ugggghhhhh

thanks again everyone.  I got my workout done and felt better knowing I wasn't suppose to do it slowly.  You'd think that would be easier but it isn't LOL!!

I also got a compliment from one of the "boys" in the gym- he said I had good form on the deadlift from box!!

Bragging about that one all over this forum hehehe
