Nursing mom - stuck at same weight for a month!

Quote  |  Reply

I have a 4 month old son that I am breastfeeding.  I had been losing 1 - 2 pounds a week consistently, but for the last month I have been at a standstill.  I'm 5'4 and currently 145 lbs.  I would like to get down to 125 by the end of May.  I currently eat between 1800 and 2000 calories a day.  I do a weight workout 2 times a week, pilates once a week, and cardio interval training 3 times a week.  Any ideas on how to get the weight to start shedding?

Thanks,

Angel

I really don't know what to tell you.  Is it possible you've been too consistent?  Maybe your body has adjusted to your routine too well and you need to change it up.  I have heard people suggest this before, even Bob on biggest loser said last night that they encourage "cheat" days to shock the metabolism.  I have also heard people suggest switching up your exercise routine for the same reason.  I am not sure what else to suggest, you seem to be eating enough, although I know if I added that much exercise to my normal routine I would need more calories than that but I dont know how active the rest of your day is.  Good Luck!

I would do the whole shock to your system - and eat more for a few days, then maybe just step your workouts up- maybe your body got to used to the routine- try some different workouts - rather then a treadmil try the bike- u never know it could work!! Good luck ( im also nursin my 3.5 month old- and at 173 lbs- 5'4 i try to eat around 2000 with workouts 3-4 days a week- i just try to think of lil goals like hopes of gettin to 160's)
