Well, I've read about this...apparently some of you have an addicition to this stuff so against my better judgement, I bought my first jar ever of Nutella.  I haven't even opened it up yet...what is it best on?  Now I will have one more thing to deny myself but I had to see what ya'll were talking about...gotta go, it's calling my name.

I used to have it with crackers but my hubby just ate it with a spoon. In a sense it is better the way he did it because it was without pretense (after all... whatever you put it, it is all about the Nutella) and he saved calories by not having the crackers/cookies.

My favorite was on warm French crepes... I even had it on tortillas though... Nutella is one of those things that is good anywhere. You can even have it with fruit, which is actually a way to incorporate something healthy into the snack.

OMG... I love Nutella. Haven't had it in years.

To me, nutella is basically a chocolate spread. Its mainly sugar and not that nutritious.

You'd be much better off with peanut butter, IMO!

Of course, I'm not going to lie - I do find it delicious, but not really worth it.
I think it does have nutritional value.....it's made with hazelnuts. I would compare it to peanut butter. It is good because it's made with nuts but you always want to eat nuts in moderation. Nutella is better then peanut butter in the sense it has a lower fat content. But it has more sugar then peanut butter. But the sugar content really isnt THAT bad. SO, in moderation, I think Nutella is a GREAT susbstitute to peanut butter. I like it on toast. 1 TB. on a slice of whole grain wheat bread is a great snack and healthy snack.
Mmm, Nutella . . .  I don't buy it anymore, but I used to make Nutella and peanut butter sandwiches.  I've even smeared Nutella on waffles!
I haven't had Nutella in years. I loved it on toasted bread with peanut butter and sliced bananas. Heaven!
a spoon. LOL. I can't keep it in the house, otherwise I'll eat the whole jar.

 That sounds scrumptious!

Wow I just googled Nutella

200 cals for 2 tbspns!  with 20g sugar!

LOL I might as well just smear it on my butt cause that's where it would end up!

That is definitely on my "Not Allowed In The House" list!

I ate nutella a lot when I was a child. The marketing campaigns in Australia sold it as being somewhat healthy. Ha!
Nothing tastes nicer than a nutella sandwich. MMmm.

Yes this is true if you eat 2 tbl and then some. It is not too bad if you us only 1 tbl. on a peice of sara lee whole wheat toast(the one that has 45 cal per slice) That makes a grand total of 145 calories. Not too bad as a dessert!

Hahahaha I JUST finished eating some.

Its....delicious. I managed to stay away from it for quite a few months until tonight heh heh.
I love love love it on  Caramel Ricecakes.

i can only eat nutella in france on crepes.

nutella is nostalgic for me... : )

but for a healthier option then the bread/crackers and such, apples/strawberries/bananas with nutella are delicious.
I agree with feddiechick: a spoon. Anything else is filler and gets in the way. Laughing
eating it on a banana is the best way to go, no doubt. if you spread in on the banana, you end up using only about a tablespoon. So not only do you control the portion of nutella that you eat, you also get your fill of niacin and all that other good stuff in bananas.
nutella + strawberries = the best love affair <333
hahahaha
but i do just dig into the jar and eat it with a spoon too :P
also it's good on gram crackers hehe :]
pancakes...waffles...icecream...anything...
i don't buy it because i would eat it all :/

You could always make your own nutella and it's a bit healthier...

1/2 cup hazelnuts 1/8 tsp salt 1/2 cup 2% cottage cheese 2 tsp vanilla extract 3 tbsp baking cocoa Directions
  1. In a Food processor, blend cottage cheese until it is lump-free.
  2. Add in cocoa, vanilla and salt, pulse until fully combined.
  3. Add Hazelnuts, and blend until completly smooth!
I found it in the recipes portion of this site...

i haven't read all the posts yet, but my fave is on a banana. i hate bananas. then i tried it w nutella, and bam, i like bananas. but i also eat it on bread, and i also eat it on a spoon.

homemade nutella!?! can it be true? how many cals?

the good hints on CC outweigh the BAD.  after reading about ppl crazy for Nutella............I had to buy some

OMG..........I LOVE the hazelnut flavor in it.  it was the best thing ever.  I would just have a spoonful now and then.  When I left Florida, I left it in my daughters cupboard.   I felt like a bad mom, buying something like that for her.  but hey, shes young and can burn off the calories easier than me.
I love Nutella. I do not buy it because I will eat the entire thing without thinking about it. I do every so often have a Nutella sandwich when I am at my sisters house, she buys the stuff as a treat for her three boys.
