Okay so I was wondering what the best protein/nutrition bar is the best? I want to buy some but I don't know which ones? I think they would be perfect for me because I go to school and work and I don't really have time to eat. So I know theres like the south beach diet bars, soyjoy, cliff bars, slim fast!?! which ones are the best!!? thanks!

I like the PowerBar brand protein plus bars. They taste good and have 24g of protein. Just make sure to drink 8 oz of water with each bar! Enjoy!

I also really like the PRIA complete nutrition bars.  They are super tasty and have essential vitamins etc.

I like cliff bars. I eat them for road races or when I go for a 3+ hour training rides (bicycle).
Anyway. You don't have to spent a lot of time preparing food. Making wraps with some Black Forest Ham, and Honey smoked turkey (I get them at Costco) in LaTortilla factory Smart Delicious Tortilla (local grocery store), with a mix of greek yogurt (I use Fage fat free), some greens and your choice of low fat dressing (I like cilantro from Trader Joes) takes almost no time at all.

Here is another quick recipe.
Trader Joes sells some veggie burgers. I like Masala, or Dr. Praeges texmex burgers. They cook really fast. About 3 minutes per side. While their cooking you can mix the sauce: Table spoon or greek yogurt, Dijorn mustard, tea spoon of Adobo sauce. I also like to add some marinated mushrooms to it. Mix it all together, and you can carry it to school or work in a small container. The burger you can just wrap in a napkin, along with the Tortilla (I like the ones I mentioned above). To prepare spread the sauce on the tortilla, crumble the burger, add a fistfull of greens (I use pre cut from grocery store). You have a healthy lunch that took less then ten minutes to prepare, and less then a minute to assemble.

I find these useless.... because - there seems to be a ton and a half of calories in them, but of little "fill me up" value.  I prefer spending my calories on stuff that will actually be filling.

I love the LUNA bars.  They're really good for you full of vitamins, protein, and they say that they're low glycemic.  They're also 70% organic and not heavly processed like a lot of bars out there like PowerBars and Balance Bars.  LUNA bars are made by Cliff bars and I've had both, though the Cliff bars are much more filling but have more calories.  The LUNA bars typically have 180 cals and are perfect for quick pick me ups.  I think the Cliff bars have +200 cals.  I have a LUNA before or after some of my exercises and runs.

Another vote for LUNA bars!  However, they can be messy if it's a flavor with chocolate and left in the car for an emergency meal - LOL - speaking from experience here...

The only bars I buy are Kashi bars or the occasional Luna bar. I use them as snacks. I don't think any bar is a substitute for a real meal.

I agree with this to an extent. A lot of bars just don't cut it for me.

I have found though that Clif bars actually fill me up.
I had one in-between classes today, and could only manage to eat about half.

I'm for the Luna and Cliff bars too. (:

Luna bars are amazing. (:

I bought an Attune granola bar for the first time yesterday. (http://www.attunefoods.com/) I got a mango peach one and it was really good. You should go try those. :)

One must be careful with bars as they have much more carbs/sugars than you think.  I like the Myoplex bars by EAS.  They have a light version which has like 3-4 grams sugar and fairly low carbs and about 15 grams of protien.  When I do eat these It is to supplement a meal so I can reach my target of 40 grams/protien.  If it is an entire "Meal Replacement" then the total overall calories/carbs may not be a big deal.

I have the same situation you do. The two protien bars that I really like are the Atkins Peanut Butter chocolate bars and the Special K Double Chocolate bars.

I like the Atkins one because it's not loaded with sugar and is pretty satisfying with a glass of water. It doesn't replace Reese's peanut butter cups, LOL, but it's close enough that I can pretend I'm just having dessert for lunch. :)

The Special K bars have a lot of sugar, but I only eat those when I'm really craving chocolate or just something sweet. I figure if I'm going to consume 10 g of suger, I might as well get some protien with it. They do calm my chocolate cravings pretty well.

Balance Gold bar (Caramel Nut Blast) tastes remarkably like a Snickers bar.  Much healthier than a Snickers bar.  Half the fat, half the sugar, three times the protein.  Definitely satisfies the urge for sweets and kills the appetite for 2-3 hours.  Great when you're on the run.  Otherwise, there are much healthier foods.

I love the Lärabars. Filling, nutritious, and they taste good. I use them more for a snack, averaging about 200 cal or so. Keeps my cravings for other sweets at bay and fits nicely into my daily, caloric intake plan.Smile
