Nutritional Advice
Ok, the deal is, my first day here I only consumed 809 calories, when it said I should eat 1500 calories per day. I've watched what I was eating and only ate the good amount of proportions I should be eating. Hell, I even got a B- grade on my first day, with workouts. So, why is it that I got the "thumbs down" on my page. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Is it the too low calorie intake? Thanks
It's because you didn't even come close to meeting your calorie goals for the day.
Eating 800 calories a day = very not good. Especially if you are also exercising. Your body needs fuel. Don't know your history, but eating that little food tends to be indicative of disordered eating or an eating disorder.
I was having a similiar problem, I am also on a 1500, but I was only eating around 1000. You need to add the extra calories in if you can...just by adding a banana in there, that is an extra 100 calories...protein is also great! But you do need to find ways to sneak in those extra ones, eating 5 small meals is a great way to do it...good luck!
Eating only 800 calories will produce that much-sought-after initial quick weight loss, but in the long run, you will stop losing weight because your very efficient metabolism will adjust down to the new caloric intake and stop burning calories. My advice is to keep your body "guessing" by varying your daily intake, so that "on average" (say over the past 7 days), you are meeting your recommended daily intake of 1500. This will produce a healthy 1-2 pound weekly loss, and minimize those "plateaus" that people seem to experience when their bodies just don't want to give up any more pounds. And your food satisfaction will also enable you to stay on track and not "binge" from the psychological deprivation factor.
Will I lose weight if I eat the same food over and over?
You can lose weight despite eating the same food day-after-day as long as you eat fewer calories than you burn. In fact, eating the... Read more
