I went to a Nutritionist a day before I found this web-site (8th of March) and was instructed to intake 1400 calories a day, 4 days a week 1 hour of cardio, 2 days a week 45 min of circuit training. The calories are made up of 2 Fruits, 2 Dairy, 3 Fats, 4 Grains, 4 Veggies, and 8 oz of Protein. I have logged my eating for the past 2 days and have been under 1000 calories both days (I'm supposed to be at 1400). I don't feel hungry and have lost a pound a day. I feel good and have not worked out yet...am I being healthy or am I in starvation mode? I am 5'2" and now at 114...my goal is 107...someone tell me if I am being healthy.

In summary, I have been eating as instructed and suppose to have taken in 1400 calories, the calorie-count says I have only taken in 1000... and I have not exercised yet. Am I in starvation mode?
if your eating through-out the day, then i don't see your body going into survival mode. 4-6 meals through-out the day, at 1000 calories should be fine, and i doubt your burning stored energy/muscle mass.
but if your eating less than that, when you workout, you'll be hungry before the nights over, so i wouldn't eat before sleep.
so i'd do cardio / workouts in the mornings, so you can kick your metabolism up, and eat when your body wants food, and when you eat your last meal, make sure its an 1:30 / 2:00 hours before bed.

In my experience initially when the body goes below the recommended calorie intake, it will start to lose weight. But, the body is an amazing adapting machine and very perceptive and if you continue taking in too few calories it will realize what's happening and go into starvation mode. Most recommend not going lower than 1200 calories a day or the body will see this as starvation.
I'm not sure how long it takes the body to recognize this, though and I'm sure it's different for every person. A couple of days should be fine; but, don't let it go on too long or you will plateau and your metabolism will slow-down as a result.
