What is nutritious anyway?
I have always logged calories, like since 7th grade, but never knew the correct percents I should be consuming!
out of curiosity, I looked at my cal log history from the month of may....1400, 1200, 1000, 800, 1300, 1100, 900, 1200, 800, 1000....thats what it looked like every day and i gained a lot of weight! And now I am going up, to 1500-1600-1700 everyday...woweeee.anyways my percentages/ratios everyday were like...19%/20%/65%....granted I eat a lot a lot a lot of fruits and veggies btu that is a LOT of carbs right? Now that I am trying to do this right, what should I be getting???
A
oh, and yesterday was 1300 my first day up since like 800-1000 and i got 26%/16%/57%...i cant NOT eat lots of fruits and veggies but i think the carbs looks way too high.
If you want to adjust the percentages then don't cut back on the carbohydrates, just add more proteins and fats to your meals. 1700 is still quite a light diet.
Congrats on increasing!

Your diet should be around 25-30% fats, 20-25% proteins and 50-60% carbohydrates as a good average. 'Carbs' have had an unfairly bad press in recent years. Carbohydrates are essential for good health, they provide most of the energy in a diet and, if you're choosing the better ones... unrefined, 'natural', wholefoods, high in fibre (fruit, vegetables, wholegrains, wholewheat, starchy vegetables).. then you'd be getting excellent nutrition.

This is great information to know, thank you gi-jane! =)
