Nutritonal failure or success?
So I noticed that the maintenance forum has "staying healthy" in the last half of the tagline, giving off the impression that maintaining weight loss had to do with eating healthy going hand-in-hand with calorie consumption, rather than just sticking with the science of calorie counting and eating crap food, as long is it had been within calorie allowance.
That was when my conscience prompted me to have a gander at my food log analysis.
Apparently, I've been averaging all A's, and this makes me a very happy maintainer. I notice that as much as I haven't been actually mindful of how good what I shove in my piehole is, I think losing weight helps give you a sense of eating healthier.
To all of you calorie counters out there, what grades have you been getting?
Depending on the day I get anywhere from an A- to a C. I think maybe a few days since I started using CC I have gotten an A. Usually I am in the B range. If I average a month's worth of days together my average grade is usually a B. I'm eating the same way I used to eat before I decided to lose some weight (I'm not maintaining yet), I'm just eating less of it. I am however eating more fruits and more high fiber foods. My main problem is not really what I eat it's how much I exercise.
By the way, I am happy with my food grades. I get annoyed when I have C days because I'm not really eating anything that unhealthy, I think it's just a bad nutritional balance.
anywhere from a-c. sometimes I allow myself a yummy treat as long as im not overindulging.
I don't really listen to the grades the analysis gives you. While it does analyze ratios and how much of things you eat (i.e. fiber, sugar, macronutrients), it doesn't really look at if you are eating a well balanced diet with enough fruits, vegetables, and dairy products.
I usually get an A, but since I'm not American, I can't find most of the food in the CC database and have to enter the values myself.
My nutrient intake is good, though. I make sure I'm getting enough of everything. I do consume too much sugar, but CC also accounts for the sugars found in fruit and non-sweetened food.
I get A or A- ... exercise 4-5 days a week and still can't lose anything! VERY frustrated.
