Just got back from a short trip to London and picked up some goodies.  Oatcakes being one of them.  ( I know you can get them from Whole foods but they're so expensive).

Love them with the garlic and herb laughing cow cheese!

Any other ideas on how to eat them...more of a savory person than sweet.

They sound like they would go awesome with liver spread. I would use this recipe, substituting regular boiled liver for the sausage.

Roasted eggplant spread is also to die for. You can also add substitute the olive oil with some homemade olive oil mayonnaise for nutrient balance and a creamy, puffy, divine taste. Yogurt or a yogurt+cottage cheese blend would also complement the veggies nicely.

When it comes to spreads, I never stop experimenting, it`s so much fun and so hard to mess up at putting a bunch of your favourite foods in a blender and pushing the button. Unless it`s a dark chocolate salmon spread or something. x]

Might be a stupid question but what are oatcakes? i dont think ive ever had them

Have it with avocado and smoked salmon. Mmmm..

jenny,

not a stupid question at all....they're kind of like a cookie made with oats.

I forgot to mention i'm a vegetarian (dont eat fish either)

Oatcakes are a weakness of mine, nothing better than some oatcakes , a nice piece of mature cheese ( half - fat ) , some grapes and a glass of red.
