i think i love oatmeal a little too much. i wish i could eat it for every meal, but i know i shouldn't. lately i've been eating a bowl for breakfast and then one for dinner. i'm trying to eat a lot of protein, but oatmeal just won't leave me alone. i even tried getting rid of the flavored oatmeal that i would usually eat, but now i'm falling in love with the original flavored one my mom buys. does anyone else have this problem? it's just sooooo yummy and easy to make.. and i can mix it with anything! ahhh ![]()
Oatmeal is my favourite food!
For more protein have you tried mixing in protein powders or egg whites?
If you use plain oatmeal as a side dish every meal instead of rice or bread, that's actually a very healthy alternative. Just don't load it up with sugar, salt, butter, cream, etc!
Fish, eggs, and nuts are good healthy sources of protein, since you're concerned about that.

My mom let me borrow her crock pot, so lately I've been waking up to delicious steel cut oats, perfectly cooked in a water bath, that I add protein powder to.
