Is there any other way to use oatmeal, besides cookies, and the breakfast style stuff?
Funny you should mention oatmeal! I have never eaten it but bought some the other day and made this recipe
http://caloriecount.about.com/protein-pancake s-recipe-r1268
I put some honey on top and alls I can say is OMG - YUM!!!!!
Not sure on other ways to use it but will let you know if I stumble across any.
I'm sure this isn't what you meant - but when I was younger and had oily skin, my mom used to make a face mask for me with oatmeal and honey that was great. No need to count calories too :-)
lol! facemask!
What I meant by this, was, like, not bread or muffins etc, or the regular hot cereal, but something really different... like.... with meat or something?
Ok, ok. I felt a little bad being so flip, so I did a little searching and here's a savory oatmeal recipe just for you!

The link has the recipe (on the 2nd or 3rd page of the article), but look at the ingredients:
1 cup groats (these are apparently whole oat kernels)
3 cups vegetable or meat stock
1 cup flavorful beer (optional; use 4 cups stock if not using)
2 tbsp organic Canola oil
1 medium fennel stalk, diced
1 large leek, sliced in rings (tender white and green parts)
2 green onions, diced (tender white and green parts)
1 large shallot, diced
4 cloves garlic, diced
1 carrot, diced
1 rib celery, sliced
4 ounces cremini mushrooms, sliced
4 ounces shiitake mushrooms, sliced
1 tbsp cultured butter (often labeled as European butter)
1/2 cup dry red wine
2 tbsp fennel fronds, chopped
Sea salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
1 cup Smoky cheese (smoked gouda, smoked Swiss, etc.), grated
1 green onion, diced (green part only)
Wow... that's a heck of a lot of ingredients... I guess I forgot to say "simple" because I ain't really all that proficient in the kitchen!
I still appreciate the recipe! Maybe I'll take a look at the site too.
I use it in meatloaf. Instead of bread crumbs, use 2/3 cup oats and 1 cup milk for the liquid. It is very good and nobody knows it's in there. You can also use it in other recipes calling for bread crumbs. I experiment with different foods to find ones I like using oats.
Why do I have yellow hands and feet?
An excessive intake of carotenoids, found in carrots, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, winter squash, spinach, kale, broccoli, and dark green and orange produce... Read more
